Will MU reunite with Paul Pogba for the third time?

After serving an 18-month ban for testing positive for the banned substance DHEA, Pogba was officially allowed to return to professional competition on March 11, 2025. He was initially banned for four years, but the penalty was reduced after a successful appeal. The 31-year-old has not played since his last appearance for Juventus in September 2023 and was subsequently released by the club.

Pogba is currently a free agent and can sign for any club outside the transfer window, as long as that team has a vacancy in the first team squad.

Some have suggested that Manchester United could be a potential destination for him, but this is unlikely. Although MU still has a player registration slot until the end of the season, their tight financial situation and policy of prioritizing youth development make it difficult for them to intend to bring Pogba back.

Fabrizio Romano also dismissed rumors of Pogba returning to Old Trafford. In a recent news report, Romano confirmed that there were no negotiations between the two sides: "At the moment, I don't know anything about this. Nothing."

As for Pogba, although he can sign a contract right now, he is not in a hurry to find a new destination. The French midfielder plans to wait until the summer transfer window to make the most appropriate decision for his career.
