MU flirts with PSG's left-back
MU are looking to strengthen their left-back position in the January 2025 transfer window.

According to information from the British media, the Red Devils have sent an offer to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to recruit star Nuno Mendes, the player considered their transfer priority in the near future.
MU is currently struggling at left-back with Luke Shaw often having fitness problems, and Tyrell Malacia not meeting expectations after returning from injury. With the need to find a stable left-back, Nuno Mendes is considered a potential option, especially when the player is not satisfied with the situation at PSG.
Nuno Mendes, the 22-year-old Portuguese player, is currently unhappy with his salary and treatment at PSG. Although his contract runs until 2026, Mendes has expressed his desire to leave the Parc des Princes in the January transfer window or in the summer of 2025. He has a close relationship with coach Ruben Amorim, who gave Mendes his chance at Sporting Lisbon and helped him develop into a talented defender.
While United are keen on signing Mendes, the deal could be financially difficult to pull off. After spending heavily in the summer transfer window of 2024, United will have to carefully consider their financial situation. PSG, despite Mendes' unhappiness, have no plans to sell the player, and the transfer fee may not be cheap.
In addition to Nuno Mendes, MU is also considering other options such as David Raum, left-back of RB Leipzig. The Red Devils had negotiated to sign Raum in the summer of 2024 but failed, and he could still be a viable alternative.
Adding a quality left-back would be a key part of Ruben Amorim's strategy to strengthen his squad, as Manchester United continue to search for consistency this season.
