3 subjects sentenced to 68 months in prison for illegally buying, selling and storing drugs
On July 5, at the Compulsory Drug Rehabilitation Center No. 1 of Nghe An province, the People's Court of Nghia Dan district held two public mobile trials of two cases, three defendants for the crime of "Illegal trading and possession of narcotics".
First case: At about 3:00 p.m. on April 25, 2024, Hoang Van Kien, born in 2001, residing in Nghia Tien commune, Thai Hoa town, was addicted to drugs, so he drove his motorbike to the gate of Tay Bac Nghe An Hospital to buy drugs to use.

Here, Kien met and bought from an unknown young man named Tai, address unknown, 3 Methamphetamine pills, with a total weight of 0.32 grams for 700,000 VND.
While Hoang Van Kien was looking for a place to use it, the Investigation Police Agency of Nghia Dan District discovered and confiscated all 3 pills of drugs.
Second case: On June 8, 2024, at Trung An hamlet, Nghia An commune, Nghia Dan district, Nghia Dan district police caught red-handed Ho Sy Nguyen, born in 1994, residing in Phu Khanh hamlet, Nghia Khanh commune, possessing 0.27g of Methamphetamine.
During the investigation, Nguyen confessed that he bought the above drugs from Le Anh Tuan, born in 1983, residing in the same commune.

Based on Nguyen's testimony, on the same day, the Nghia Dan District Police Department detained Le Anh Tuan in an emergency and seized 0.77 grams of Methamphetamine.
During the investigation, Tuan confessed to buying the above drugs to sell to drug addicts for profit.
At the trial, the defendants honestly confessed their crimes. Their testimonies were consistent with the indictment of the People's Procuracy of Nghia Dan district and the documents in the case file.
Determining the nature and level of danger of the crime, the Trial Council sentenced the defendants: Ho Sy Nguyen to 18 months in prison, Le Anh Tuan to 30 months in prison and Hoang Van Kien to 20 months in prison.

The organization of the mobile trial at the Compulsory Drug Rehabilitation Center No. 1 in Nghe An province has attracted the attention of the students. Through the process of questioning, indictment and debate at the trial, the Trial Council and the Prosecutors have proactively disseminated the provisions of the criminal law, the law on drug prevention and control and the harms and consequences of drug use.
