On the evening of April 22nd, information from the Tri Le Border Guard Station (Border Guard Station 519), Que Phong district, indicated that from approximately 12 noon to 3 PM on April 22nd, a prolonged thunderstorm occurred in the commune. Notably, the thunderstorm included two hailstorms at around 1 PM and 3 PM.

Many hailstones had a diameter of 2-3cm, and some were even as large as a teacup. Some residents collected the hailstones to take home for use. Initial reports indicate that some houses with corrugated iron roofs were punctured by the hail, and crops were also damaged.

Currently, the Tri Le commune authorities and soldiers from the Tri Le Border Guard Post are assessing the damage and providing assistance to the people to recover after the thunderstorm and hailstorm.

This is the first hailstorm to occur in Tri Le commune since the beginning of the year.

Earlier, at around 5:30 PM on April 21st, residents in Muong Xen town and some neighboring communes such as Ta Ca, Huu Kiem, and Huu Lap in Ky Son district were surprised to see hailstones falling on their roofs. Some hailstones were as large as chicken eggs.
