(Baonghean.vn) - A hailstorm accompanied by a tornado that occurred in Tuong Duong district (Nghe An province) on the afternoon of April 9th ​​damaged 33 houses, one school, and one community center, with the roofs being blown off.

According to Mr. Lo Kham Kha, Head of the Agriculture Department of Tuong Duong District (Nghe An province), the hailstorm accompanied by a tornado that occurred in Tuong Duong district caused widespread damage.

Specifically, in Mai Son commune, 15 houses were damaged, including 2 severely damaged; in Nhon Mai commune, 14 houses had their roofs blown off, Nhon Mai kindergarten had 3 sheets of corrugated iron blown off, and one community house had its roof blown off; in Luu Kien commune, 4 houses had their roofs blown off and were damaged.

The estimated total damage across the district is 250,000,000 VND.

A house in Xiangyang County was damaged.

According to Mr. Kha, immediately after the incident, the District Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Command directly supervised the recovery efforts. The Commune People's Committee directed the management boards of the affected villages to mobilize the people to assist those whose houses had their roofs blown off in repairing damage and stabilizing their lives. By the end of the afternoon of April 10th, most affected households had completed repairs, while those with severe damage had only made temporary repairs.
