Red Rain wins Golden Lotus Award at the 24th Vietnam Film Festival
The film "Red Rain" won the top prize at the 24th Vietnam Film Festival. Tuan Tran and Phuong Anh Dao were honored as Best Leading Actor and Actress.
At the closing ceremony and awards presentation of the 24th Vietnam Film Festival held on the evening of November 25th at the Army Theater (Ho Chi Minh City), the film "Red Rain" was officially awarded the Golden Lotus Award for Best Feature Film. This is the most prestigious award of the national film event.

As expected by experts, "Red Rain" had a hugely successful film festival season. In addition to the Golden Lotus Award, the film also won in many other important categories, including:
- Excellent artistic design:Vu Viet Hung
- Excellent sound:Hoang Thi Thu Thuy
- Excellent visual effects:Dinh Viet Phuong
- Best Supporting Actor:Phuong Nam (playing the role of Captain Ta)
Speaking at the awards ceremony, director Dang Thai Huyen expressed her gratitude to the jury, the Ministry of National Defence, the entire crew, and the audience for their support of the film. The film, set against the backdrop of the 81-day and 81-night battle to defend Quang Tri Citadel, was highly praised for its historical and artistic value and was also selected to represent Vietnam in the Oscar competition for Best International Film.
Honoring outstanding lead actors
The two most important acting awards went to Tuan Tran and Phuong Anh Dao. Tuan Tran was honored as Best Leading Actor for his role in the film "Bringing Mother Away," while Phuong Anh Dao received the Best Leading Actress award for her role in the film "Mai."
However, neither actor was able to be present to receive the award in person at the ceremony. The film "Abandoning My Mother" also received the Jury Prize, along with the films "Detective Kien" and "Mai".
Other important awards
Besides the Golden Lotus Award, the organizers also presented three Silver Lotus Awards to other outstanding feature films:
- Underground Tunnels: The Sun in the DarknessThe film also won awards for Best Cinematography and Best Music Composer.
- Battle of the Aerial Air:The film won the Best Director award for Ham Tran and the Best Supporting Actor award for Bao Dinh.
- Sister-in-law:The work was awarded the Best Screenplay Prize and the Jury Prize.
The "Most Popular Vietnamese Film" award, voted on by the audience, went to the horror film "The Demon Dog". The event also honored Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan, President of the Vietnam Film Development Promotion Association (VFDA), with a Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism for her outstanding contributions to the development and promotion of Vietnamese cinema.
