'Red Rain' set a series of unprecedented revenue records, earning 378 billion VND and dominating the box office on the occasion of National Day, September 2.
Red Rain dominates the box office with a series of outstanding records
The movie "Red Rain" has become an unprecedented phenomenon in Vietnamese cinema on the occasion of the September 2nd holiday. In just 3 days of the weekend, the movie earned 122.1 billion VND from 1.25 million tickets, accounting for more than 80% of the total revenue of the whole market.

As of September 1, the film's total revenue reached 378 billion VND. This work has officially surpassed "The Revenge of the Four" to become the highest-grossing film of 2025 and entered the top 5 highest-grossing films of all time.
Get Rich with Ghosts 2 maintains its runner-up position
Despite having to compete directly with "Red Rain", the film "Get Rich with Ghosts 2: Diamond War" still achieved positive results. In the 3-day weekend, the film earned 19.4 billion VND, bringing the total revenue to more than 34.1 billion VND.

As of September 1, the film continued to hold the runner-up position with 5.91 billion VND from 60,467 tickets.
Foreign films lose steam before the appeal of Vietnamese films
In contrast to the boom of Vietnamese films, foreign films such as "The Demon Slayer: Infinite City" and "Gang of Monsters 2" only achieved modest revenue of 4.25 billion and 3.76 billion VND respectively.

Film market outlook for September
After the holiday, the Vietnamese film market is expected to continue to be bustling with a series of new projects hitting theaters. Notable films include "Ghost Bride" (September 5), "Mom's Birthday Crash", "Blindfolded Deer Catching", "Play and Take", "Daughter Sale Contract" and the blockbuster "Fight to the Death in the Sky".
"Red Rain" is expected to continue its journey to conquer new records and challenge the highest positions in the history of Vietnamese cinema.
