The film "Red Rain" became an unprecedented phenomenon in Vietnamese cinema during the September 2nd holiday. In just three days over the weekend, the film grossed 122.1 billion VND from 1.25 million tickets, accounting for over 80% of the total market revenue.

As of September 1st, the film's total revenue reached 378 billion VND. This film has officially surpassed "The Four Vengeful Spirits" to become the highest-grossing film of 2025 and entered the top 5 highest-grossing films of all time.
Getting Rich with Ghosts 2 maintains its second-place position.
Despite competing directly with "Red Rain," the film "Making Money with Ghosts 2: The Diamond War" still achieved positive results. Over the three-day weekend, the film grossed 19.4 billion VND, bringing its total revenue to over 34.1 billion VND.

As of September 1st, the film continued to hold the second position with 5.91 billion VND from 60,467 tickets sold.
Foreign films are losing ground to the appeal of Vietnamese films.
In contrast to the boom in Vietnamese films, foreign films such as "Demon Slayer: Infinity" and "Gangsters 2" only achieved modest revenues of 4.25 billion and 3.76 billion VND respectively.

Film market outlook for September
After the holiday, the Vietnamese film market is expected to remain vibrant with a series of new projects hitting theaters. Notable films include "Ghost Bride" (September 5th), "Spoiling Mom's Birthday", "Blindfolded Deer Catching", "You Play, You Pay", "The Strawberry Selling Contract", and the blockbuster "Battle in the Air".
"Red Rain" is expected to continue its journey of conquering new records and challenging for the highest positions in the history of Vietnamese cinema.
