Heavy rain causes local flooding in Thanh Chuong

(Baonghean.vn) - Due to the influence of a tropical depression, on the night of September 25 and the morning of September 26, heavy to very heavy rain occurred in Thanh Chuong district, with rainfall measuring from about 150 - 170 mm; some roads in communes and towns were partially flooded.

In Ngoc Lam commune, heavy rain and water from the mountains flooded some spillways on the inter-commune road, causing danger to traffic participants. The most seriously flooded spot was at the Tan Tien spillway bridge, Ngoc Lam commune.

To ensure the safety of the people, Ngoc Lam Border Guard Station has dispatched forces, coordinated with local authorities to put up warning signs, and stood guard at key locations to warn and prevent people from passing through.

In the coming time, floods will continue to develop complicatedly. The leaders of Thanh Chuong District People's Committee requested local authorities at the grassroots level to prepare plan 4 on the spot to be proactive in flood and storm prevention.

At the same time, people are requested to follow the instructions of the government and competent agencies to comply well when participating in traffic, especially when going through flooded roads.
