As autumn arrives, the revolutionary lands of Nghe An province shine with renewed vigor.
On this historic autumn day, the countryside of Nghe An province is buzzing with renewed enthusiasm. Faith and aspirations for progress spread, blending with the joyful atmosphere of celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd. This spirit is even more evident in the areas that rose up early to seize power for the people 80 years ago.
Happy New Day

In August, the roads of Mon Son border commune are ablaze with the vibrant colors of the red flag with a yellow star. The sun gildes the fields, mountains, and rivers. This rural area, "the cradle of the revolution in western Nghe An," is bustling with excitement and joy in anticipation of the grand 80th anniversary celebration.August Revolutionand National Day on September 2nd, celebrating the successful conclusion of the First Congress of the Party Committee of Mon Son Commune, term 2025 - 2030.
At the National Revolutionary Historical Site of Mr. Vi Van Khang's house (Thai Hoa village), members of the Youth Union, young people, and local residents come here to clean, maintain, and care for the orchards. Ms. Ha Thi Huong, Vice Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee and Secretary of the Youth Union of Mon Son commune, shared: For many years, Mr. Vi Van Khang's house has been a "red address" for young generations in the commune and remote areas of Nghe An to come and learn, nurturing patriotism and revolutionary spirit.

Ninety-four years ago, at the home of Mr. Vi Van Khang, the Mon Son Party Branch – the first Party branch established in the mountainous region of Nghe An province – was founded. The Party branch led the revolutionary movement to many victories. During the August Revolution of 1945, the Viet Minh base in Mon Son commune proactively contacted the Viet Minh General Committee in Anh Son district (formerly) to launch an uprising and successfully seize power on August 23, 1945, earlier than seizing power in the district capital.
These days, Mon Son has many new joys. The happiest are the 240 Dan Lai people in the two villages of Khe Bung and Co Phat (living in the core area of Pu Mat National Park). After many generations of "fleeing," "sleeping sitting up" to avoid wild animals, and living in makeshift shelters in the deep forests and mountains, the Dan Lai people here have been granted land use rights certificates and have received assistance from the Party and the State to build sturdy houses for stable living.

Mr. La Van Thanh, 90 years old, a resident of Dan Lai village in Bung hamlet, happily shared: “Previously, because we lived within the National Park, we couldn't obtain land use certificates. Now, the State has created conditions for us to build houses. We are grateful to the Party and the State. The people of Dan Lai now have land, houses, and something to leave to their children and grandchildren in the future…”
According to Comrade Pham Manh Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Mon Son commune: After one week of operating the two-tiered government system, the newly formed Mon Son commune (formed by the merger of Luc Da and the old Mon Son communes) has coordinated with relevant departments and agencies to complete the procedures for land allocation and housing support for the people of Dan Lai. At this time, Mon Son commune is urgently planning public investment for the 2026-2030 period. With state investment, key projects will continue to be implemented in the area. This will create many opportunities to exploit the local potential and advantages, such as developing eco-tourism and community tourism; creating conditions for the people of Dan Lai in particular and Mon Son commune in general to develop socio-economic aspects comprehensively while firmly protecting border security.

A new spirit and renewed enthusiasm, like a refreshing breeze, swept across the Giang River and the Muong Qua fields. At the Noong Bua community tourism site, Thai women enthusiastically practiced folk songs and dances praising the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and the beauty of their homeland and country... ready for the upcoming joyful days when they would welcome visitors from near and far.
Stay strong in your beliefs.
Not only Mon Son commune, but all localities in the province are experiencing a surge of new vitality during these months. In the newly formed Nam Dan commune (a merger of three communes: Nam Thanh, Nghia Thai, and Nam Hung), village roads and alleys have been paved with asphalt and concrete, creating a spacious and modern environment. The local landscape is ensured to be green, clean, and beautiful. The rural landscape, economic infrastructure, and people's lives have made remarkable progress compared to before.
This historic August, the commune's broadcasting system still resounds, reminding us of the glorious cultural and revolutionary traditions of our homeland: Years ago, the Party branch and people of Thanh Thuy commune (formerly Nam Thanh commune) bravely fought and contributed to the Nghe Tinh Soviet revolutionary movement of 1930-1931, the democratic movement of 1936-1939, forming the Viet Minh Front Committee of the commune and various National Salvation Association organizations to carry out the General Uprising and seize the first government in Nghe An.August Revolution1945.

Recalling the past to motivate the "new," Mr. Nguyen Van Nam (38 years old), from Nam Dan commune, couldn't help but feel proud of his homeland's traditions: Thanks to the Party, the revolutionary predecessors, and the heroic martyrs, we have an independent, peaceful, and happy Vietnam; and a developed Nghe An and Nam Dan as we are today. "As the old bamboo dies, new shoots grow," we, the younger generation, have great confidence in the leadership of the Party and the State, as well as the officials of the province and the commune. We are determined to effectively implement the policies and guidelines to build a richer and more beautiful Nam Dan commune.
At this time, the semi-mountainous commune of Nam Dan has just concluded its first Party Congress. Throughout the villages and hamlets, there is excitement as they embark on a new era. Comrade Nguyen Duy Thao, Secretary of the Nam Dan Commune Party Committee, stated: During the 2025-2030 term, Nam Dan commune will strive to leverage its internal strengths, awaken the aspirations and willpower of the Party Committee and the people... Determined to build Nam Dan commune into a model new rural area in terms of environmental landscape.

According to Comrade Nguyen Duy Thao, in the coming time, Nam Dan commune will focus on developing experiential tourism and culinary tourism linked to regional cooperation; preparing the best conditions to attract investment in eco-tourism, experiential tourism, and developing local culinary brands... This is the new perspective and direction to promote rapid and sustainable economic growth.
