The regulations on road traffic, effective from January 1, 2025, stipulate penalties for drivers of motorcycles and mopeds that do not have adequate rearview mirrors. One of the conditions for participating in traffic is that motorcycles must have sufficient rearview mirrors and other equipment to ensure visibility for the driver.
Motorcyclists who do not have a left rearview mirror, or who have one but it is not functional, will be fined between 400,000 and 600,000 VND.
Therefore, according to regulations, penalties will be imposed for the absence of a left rearview mirror on a motorcycle, or for the presence of a mirror that is not functional, but there are no regulations regarding penalties for the absence of a right rearview mirror on a motorcycle.
Therefore, according to regulations, when participating in traffic, motorcyclists only need to have a rearview mirror on the left side of the rider to be allowed to participate in traffic.
