Murray and Federer easily advance to the Wimbledon quarterfinals.
Both title contenders won after three sets against opponents considered tough to play against.
Andy Murray defeated young talent Nick Kyrgios 7-5, 6-1, 6-4. His opponent in the quarterfinals will be Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. The Frenchman advanced after his compatriot Richard Gasquet retired in the first set due to injury.
Murray only struggled in the first set of his match against Nick Kyrgios. The world number two had to wait until the 12th game to secure his first break point, dashing his opponent's hopes of taking the set to a tie-break.

In the second set, Kyrgios only won the first service game and lost five consecutive games, being broken twice by his opponent. The 21-year-old played better in the final set. However, a single break point in the third game was enough for Murray to secure the overall victory.
Earlier, seven-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer defeated Steve Johnson with a score of 6-2, 6-3, 7-5.Like Murray, Federer had little difficulty and didn't need a tie-break to defeat his opponent.
The 34-year-old player secured two break points in the sixth and eighth games to quickly win the first set. The second set didn't go so well for Federer. His first-serve percentage dropped to 58%, but a single break point in the fourth game was enough for him to take a 2-0 lead.

In the final set, Steve Johnson broke serve first, but Federer leveled the score at 5-5. The Swiss player then won the last two games consecutively, added another break point, and finished the match.
Federer's opponent in the quarterfinals is the 2014 US Open champion, Marin Cilic. The Croatian player advanced when his fourth-round opponent, Kei Nishikori, withdrew due to injury.
Federer and Murray are in different semi-final brackets and are likely to face each other in the final. Sam Querrey, who defeated Djokovic in the third round, advanced with a 6-4, 7-6, 6-4 victory over Nicolas Mahut. Querrey's next opponent will be sixth seed Milos Raonic.
