The US is preparing a secret list of sanctions against Russian citizens.

(Baonghean.vn) - On December 18, the Russian newspaper Izvestia, citing a close source, reported that Washington is compiling a secret list of Russian citizens to warn its European partners against contacting them.

This list is part of a package of sanctions against Russia that the US plans to approve in February 2018.

Izvestia, citing its own sources, reported that the list will include hundreds of Russian citizens, including businessmen, social activists, and recipients of Russian state awards. The list will only be disseminated to US allies and partners in Europe. They will not face sanctions, but will be considered individuals Europe should avoid contact with.

Meanwhile, Andrey Klimov, Chairman of the Interim Committee of the Federation Council (i.e., the Senate) of Russia on the Protection of National Sovereignty and Prevention of Interference in Internal Affairs, stated that Russia has begun preparing countermeasures against the US actions.
