The US has set an August 8 deadline to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
US President Donald Trump plans to address the conflict in Ukraine by August 8th.

According to RIA Novosti, Reuters quoted John Kelly, the US Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, as saying that President Donald Trump wants to reach a solution to the conflict in Ukraine by August 8th.
“Both Russia and Ukraine must agree to a ceasefire and lasting peace. It’s time to reach an agreement. President Trump has made it clear that this should be done by August 8th,” said John Kelly.
The politician noted that the US is prepared to take additional measures to ensure peace.
On July 14, the US leader issued a 50-day ultimatum to Moscow demanding a peace agreement with Kyiv, and later said he was reducing that timeframe to 10-12 days.
In the event of non-compliance, Trump threatened to impose a 100% tariff on goods imported from Russia, as well as secondary tariffs on countries that purchase oil, gas, and other energy tankers from Russia. But the US President himself later admitted that he was uncertain about the effectiveness of the restrictions.
In a related development, US President's special envoy Steve Witkoff will arrive in Russia in the coming days.
"After Israel, Witkoff will go to Russia, believe it or not," President Trump told reporters at the White House on July 31.
This statement comes amid Washington's calls for a resolution to the conflict in Ukraine as soon as possible.
