In 2019, according to US data provided to the International Monetary Fund, the US exported goods worth 5.8 billion USD to Russia, accounting for less than 0.4% of total US exports. In the same year, the US imported goods worth 22.3 billion USD from Russia, accounting for 0.9% of total US imports. However, the US is somewhat wary of economic impacts from Moscow, because Russia possesses outstanding factors such as: large energy resources, the Northern sea route, macroeconomic policy, and especially the nuclear superpower in the world.
