The US calls Russia's new armor a 'destroyer'.

Designed to cover 100% of the body and completely unique, the US was astonished and called Russia's new armor "the destroyer".

The bullets cannot penetrate it.

The brand-new armor was unveiled by Russia on June 29th at a defense event held at the High-Tech Center of the National University of Science and Technology of Russia (MISIS).

According to initial information, the armor is a product developed by the Central Research Institute of Construction Machinery - one of the leading weapon design centers for the Russian military.

This new suit of armor is part of a research program called Legionnaire, which aims to create a system that protects soldiers from all types of infantry bullets and artillery shrapnel, and allows them to operate easily in various terrains and weather conditions.

According to the released images, the armor is designed with a helmet that completely covers the head and face. A special feature is that this helmet integrates a screen displaying battlefield information and a communication system, allowing soldiers to connect not only with teammates but also with other weapon systems to increase combat effectiveness on the battlefield.

To increase carrying capacity and allow for longer periods of activity on the battlefield and during marches, the new armor was designed with an exoskeleton.

As soon as Russia unveiled this armor, many speculated that the new suit reflected Russia's future military thinking, which emphasizes the development of automated combat systems, with soldiers playing a role in controlling and operating from the rear.

Meanwhile, American media outlets suggest that, once deployed, Russian soldiers will be protected by super-armor similar to that worn by Terminators in movies.

The US is not far behind.

Before Russia unveiled its new exoskeleton suit, the US had already astonished the world with its TALOS suit. The US military stated that TALOS's external support frame allows its special forces soldiers to move more easily and maneuverably even while carrying loads exceeding 45 kg.

According to sources from the U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM), the agency officially announced it will introduce a new generation of body armor in 2018. The new suit features special details such as the ability to transform from liquid to solid form and many other advanced devices.

SOCOM is designing a new generation of combat armor to enhance strength and protection, helping U.S. special forces soldiers survive in combat. The new armor has been described by the American press as having an appearance similar to the costume worn by the protagonist in the Hollywood film Iran Man.

Currently, SOCOM is continuing its research, development, and testing of the new TALOS armor. This armor will be equipped for U.S. special forces, such as the Navy SEALs, with enhanced mobility and advanced protective technologies. SOCOM announced that the first TALOS prototype will be launched in 2018.

According to Scout Warrior, the TALOS project has made solid technological progress since efforts were intensified under former SOCOM leader Admiral William McCraven, who at the time stated he did not want to lose any more special forces soldiers.

The U.S. military, along with research institutions and contractors involved in the project, are continuing their efforts to develop technology for the exoskeleton, power systems, and enhanced protective armor. In a previous announcement, SOCOM revealed that the technology being developed for TALOS includes improved protective armor, command and control computers, power sources, and a flexible exoskeleton.

The U.S. Army website states that the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is developing a new generation of armor called "liquid armor." This armor will "transform" from liquid to solid when the magnetic field or electric current changes. Additionally, TALOS will be equipped with a bio-mechanical subsystem with sensors placed against the skin to measure body temperature, heart rate, and hydration levels.

Meanwhile, CNN reported that while TALOS can't help special forces soldiers fly like Hollywood's Iron Man suit, it's close to a fictional version in that the armor can change from a liquid to a solid state at command.

US military officials also previously stated that the first TALOS suit would be unveiled in August 2018. The US Department of Defense did not disclose the cost of research, development, and testing of TALOS, but Defense Tech quoted former Senator Tom Coburn as estimating the cost at around $80 million.
