However, that same year, their relationship seemed to have come to an end when they went their separate ways. The reason given was that Maradona discovered intimate messages between Olivia and De Gea - the Manchester United goalkeeper at the time.
According to Sunday People, Maradona and his fiancée had a heated argument, and the person most frequently mentioned in their tense conversation was Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea. After being dumped by the "Golden Boy," Rocio Oliva flew back to Buenos Aires alone.

After announcing the annulment of his engagement to Rocio Oliva, the relationship between Maradona and his girlfriend, 30 years his junior, deteriorated. From being the fiancée of the world's most famous former football player, Oliva was accused of theft. Ironically, it was Maradona himself who filed the lawsuit. Maradona's lawyers, Matias Morla and Victor Stinfale, confirmed: "Today, Maradona instructed us to file a lawsuit against Rocio Oliva for theft in Dubai."
