Protesters took to the streets of a North Carolina city for the third consecutive night to protest the fatal shooting of a 43-year-old black man named Keith Lamont Scott by a US police officer.
The US police later refused to release the video recording of the incident to the public, although they allowed the victim Scott's family to view the tape.
The protests turned violent on the night of September 21 after witnesses reported hearing gunshots and one individual was taken to hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police said this was a case between two individuals who had a conflict with each other. The victim was identified as Justin Carr, 26 years old.
The mayor of Charlotte has now signed an executive order imposing a statewide midnight curfew. The National Guard has also been activated to prepare for any potential emergencies.
