Through initial investigation, the police identified the victim as Mr. Nguyen Tri T (born in 1971, owner of a specialty store in Soc Trang - Ben Tre). It is known that Mr. T and his wife have rented the house at 230 Nguyen Thi Nho Street to open the store for about 10 years. He and his wife have 2 young children.

Witnesses said the two suspects entered the house about 5 minutes after the incident. Notably, when leaving the scene, the two young men appeared very calm and people saw them driving away on an AirBlade motorbike.

On the night of January 8, Colonel Nguyen Sy Quang - Chief of Staff, Ho Chi Minh City Police confirmed that the incident was a shooting, killing one person and the police are currently investigating. Colonel Quang added that the police have not yet determined the real motive, but it is likely that this was a case of resolving a personal conflict, not a robbery./.
