Amidst the pressure of selling thousands of tons of pineapples in Nghe An due to market fluctuations, Nafoods has expanded its procurement plan beyond its linked raw material areas, helping to stabilize the market for over 1,000 tons of pineapples for local farmers.

The government and businesses work together to solve the problem of output.

This past summer, many pineapple-growing areas in Quynh Thang (Nghe An province) entered their peak harvest season. Prolonged hot weather caused pineapples to ripen simultaneously, while reduced consumption and falling purchase prices created significant pressure on the market for agricultural products. The difficulties were mainly concentrated among households outside the supply chain, who relied heavily on the free market and traders.

In response to the local government's request to support people in selling their products,NafoodsThey have adjusted their production plan, adding approximately 1,000 tons of pineapples to the procurement plan, helping to alleviate consumption pressure during the peak season.

Expand output through processing and distribution systems.

The expansion of procurement is also linked to Nafoods' existing processing capacity and distribution system, enabling post-harvest pineapple production to be quickly brought to market in various forms.

Accordingly, nearly 32 tons of pineapples, equivalent to approximately 45,000 pineapples, were selected and distributed to the WinMart system, bringing Nghe An pineapples directly to consumers nationwide. This is also a step contributing to promoting the Nghe An pineapple brand in modern retail channels, gradually increasing its value and expanding its market.

The majority of the remaining production is processed further at the Naprod factory, with key products such as concentrated juice, IQF frozen pineapple for export to markets such as Europe and the US, and especially dried pineapple, one of the consumer products well-received in the domestic market.

Developing advanced processing capabilities significantly reduces consumption pressure on seasonal agricultural products. Instead of relying entirely on the fresh fruit market, post-harvest raw materials can be further processed into various product lines, extending shelf life, increasing value, and expanding markets.

Nafoods is currently continuing to invest in expanding its processing capacity in Nghe An and other key raw material areas. These projects not only enhance the consumption of raw materials but also contribute to the formation of large-scale production areas, linked to processing and markets in a sustainable manner.

Working together to build sustainable raw material areas.

In fact, during dialogues with farmers in Nghe An, many opinions pointed out that the biggest bottleneck in the agricultural sector today lies not only in productivity or farming techniques, but also in the instability of the market and consumption chains. Farmers want more businesses with sufficient processing capacity and market connections to partner with them in the long term, reducing their dependence on short-term purchasing channels.

In this context, Nafoods' proactive expansion of procurement beyond its raw material source not only helps address the immediate challenges of a single harvest season but also demonstrates the company's role in the modern agricultural value chain. Through procurement, processing, and distribution activities, the company, along with local authorities and farmers, is gradually building a sustainable linkage, creating a foundation for the long-term development of Nghe An's pineapple growing region.
