In 2025, Nghe An aims for double-digit growth
The above information was stated at a press conference on the socio-economic, defense and security situation held by the People's Committee of Nghe An province on the afternoon of January 13.

The year 2025 is of special importance, being the final year of implementing the 5-year Socio-Economic Development Plan 2021-2025, and at the same time the year focusing on organizing Party congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party, marking the time when the country enters a new era, the era of national growth.
At the press conference, Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Planning and Investment Nguyen Van Truong said: In 2025, the Provincial People's Council has assigned the target of GRDP growth rate reaching 9.5-10.5%. On that basis, the Provincial People's Committee sets a double-digit growth target, striving for about 10-10.5%.

To complete the set goals and tasks, Nghe An has set out 10 key groups of tasks: In which, all levels and sectors focus on reviewing, carefully analyzing, and closely assessing the implementation of the goals and targets of the Party Congress resolution and the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2021-2025, especially the targets that are still low and difficult to achieve, to resolutely, synchronously, and effectively deploy tasks and solutions to accelerate, make breakthroughs, and strive to achieve the highest goals and targets of the socio-economic development plan in 2025, contributing to the successful implementation of the goals and targets of the socio-economic development plan for the entire period of 2021-2025.
The province focuses on removing difficulties and obstacles for production and business activities; synchronously implementing solutions to support and promote growth in industries and sectors. Restructuring the economy associated with renewing the growth model towards increasing productivity, efficiency and competitiveness, based on the strong application of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation.

Nghe An continues to strongly improve the investment and business environment in a drastic and effective manner; accelerate the expansion of the Southeast Economic Zone; focus on accelerating the progress of industrial park infrastructure projects; and increase investment attraction for industrial cluster infrastructure investment projects.
The province has simultaneously and drastically implemented solutions to promote disbursement of public investment capital and 3 National Target Programs from the beginning of the year; mobilized all resources to implement key projects of the province, focusing on completing procedures to deploy the projects of Cua Lo Deepwater Port, Vinh International Airport, and Quynh Lap LNG project.
Nghe An continues to focus highly and resolutely direct the urgent completion of the arrangement and streamlining of the political system's apparatus, ensuring progress according to the Central's direction in the direction of "Streamlined - compact - strong - efficient - effective - efficient"...

Previously, in 2024, the pivotal year for implementing the resolutions of party congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term, the leader of the Nghe An Department of Planning and Investment said that the province achieved many impressive results in socio-economic development.
The growth rate of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) is estimated at 9.01% (ranked 2nd in the North Central region and 13th nationwide). The estimated budget revenue is 25,517 billion VND. The total export turnover is estimated at 3.9 billion USD; of which the export turnover of goods is estimated at over 3.2 billion USD. Foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction is nearly 1.75 billion USD, the highest ever, the third consecutive year in the top 10 nationwide in FDI attraction.

The fields of education, health, labor, employment, culture, and sports continued to achieve many positive results. Administrative reform and digital transformation received strong leadership and direction and continued to have many changes. National defense and security continued to be maintained, social order and safety were ensured. Foreign affairs were effectively implemented.

At the press conference, leaders of relevant departments and branches answered questions from journalists on issues such as: Inspection, detection and handling of illegal cosmetic establishments; solutions to ensure schools for high school students, especially in Vinh city; model of general school operations at Nghe An Pedagogical College after merging with Nghe An University of Economics to establish Nghe An University; handling of surplus public assets after administrative unit arrangement and merging departments and branches, etc.

Before concluding the press conference, looking back at 2024, on behalf of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long highly appreciated and thanked the participation and companionship of journalists and press agencies with the province in all fields.

Frankly acknowledging the existing problems, limitations, and results that have not been achieved as expected, the Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee affirmed that the province will continue to learn from experience to perform better and more effectively in 2025.
