Nghe An aims for double-digit growth in 2025.

This information was presented at a press conference on the socio-economic situation and national defense and security organized by the People's Committee of Nghe An province on the afternoon of January 13th.

Comrade Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, presided over the meeting. Comrade Nguyen Ba Hao - Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications, co-chaired the meeting.

Attending the press conference were leaders of the Provincial Journalists Association, representatives of leaders from various departments and agencies; representatives of news agencies and press organizations; and journalists and reporters from across the province.

TFocus on completing procedures to implement the Cua Lo Deepwater Port project, Vinh International Airport project, and the Quynh Lap LNG project.

The year 2025 holds special significance, as it is the final year of the 2021-2025 five-year socio-economic development plan, and also the year for organizing Party congresses at all levels, leading up to the 14th National Congress of the Party, marking the moment when the country enters a new era, an era of national progress.

At the press conference, Nguyen Van Truong, Deputy Director of the Nghe An Department of Planning and Investment, stated that in 2025, the Provincial People's Council set a target for GRDP growth of 9.5-10.5%. Based on that, the Provincial People's Committee aims for double-digit growth, striving for approximately 10-10.5%.

To achieve the set goals and tasks, Nghe An province has outlined 10 key task groups: Among them, all levels and sectors should focus on thoroughly reviewing, analyzing, and closely assessing the implementation of the goals and targets of the Party Congress resolution and the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2021-2025, especially those targets that are still low or difficult to achieve, in order to decisively, synchronously, and effectively implement tasks and solutions to accelerate and break through, striving to achieve the highest possible completion of the socio-economic development plan goals and targets for 2025, contributing to the successful achievement of the socio-economic development plan goals and targets for the entire 2021-2025 period.

The province is focusing on removing difficulties and obstacles for production and business activities; implementing comprehensive solutions to support and promote growth in various sectors and fields. The economic restructuring is linked to the innovation of the growth model towards increased productivity, efficiency, and competitiveness, based on the strong application of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

Nghe An continues to vigorously improve its investment and business environment in a decisive and effective manner; accelerate the expansion of the Southeast Economic Zone; focus on speeding up the progress of industrial park infrastructure projects; and strengthen efforts to attract investment in industrial cluster infrastructure projects.

The province simultaneously and decisively implemented solutions to accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital and the three national target programs right from the beginning of the year; mobilizing all resources to implement key projects of the province, focusing on completing procedures to implement the Cua Lo deep-water port project, Vinh International Airport, and the Quynh Lap LNG project.

Nghe An continues to focus intensely and decisively on urgently completing the restructuring and streamlining of the political system's organizational apparatus, ensuring progress in accordance with the Central Government's directives in the direction of "Lean - Compact - Strong - Efficient - Effective - Effective"...

Earlier, in 2024, a pivotal year for implementing the resolutions of the Party Congress at all levels for the 2020-2025 term, the leaders of the Nghe An Department of Planning and Investment stated that the province had achieved many impressive results in socio-economic development.

The province's Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) growth rate is estimated at 9.01% (ranking 2nd in the North Central region and 13th nationwide). Budget revenue is estimated at 25,517 billion VND. Total export turnover is estimated at 3.9 billion USD; of which merchandise export turnover is estimated at over 3.2 billion USD. Foreign direct investment (FDI) attracted reached nearly 1.75 billion USD, the highest ever, and for the third consecutive year, the province has been in the top 10 nationwide in attracting FDI.

The fields of education, health, labor, employment, culture, and sports continued to achieve many positive results. Administrative reform and digital transformation received strong leadership and direction, and continued to show significant progress. National defense and security remained strong, and social order and safety were ensured. Foreign affairs were implemented effectively.

At the press conference, leaders of relevant departments and agencies answered questions from journalists on issues such as: the inspection, detection, and handling of illegally operating beauty establishments; solutions to ensure school facilities for high school students, especially in Vinh City; the operational model of the high school at Nghe An College of Education after its merger with Nghe An University of Economics to form Nghe An University; and the handling of surplus public assets after the reorganization of administrative units and the merger of departments and agencies…

Before concluding the press conference, looking back at 2024, on behalf of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, Vice Chairman Bui Dinh Long highly appreciated and thanked the journalists and media agencies for their involvement and support in all fields.

Frankly acknowledging the existing problems, limitations, and results that have not met expectations, the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province affirmed that the province will continue to learn from experience to perform better and more effectively in 2025.

During this process, the leaders of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee hope that press agencies and journalists will continue to cooperate; especially by promoting more strongly and extensively the implementation of organizational restructuring in accordance with Resolution 18 (12th Congress) of the Central Committee, in order to create unity in awareness and action, accepting the sacrifice of personal and collective interests for the common good of the country.

Along with improving the effectiveness of state management by all levels of government, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long also requested the press to promote its role in information and propaganda to detect and provide accurate information, thereby helping people raise awareness and avoid being exploited by malicious individuals, such as the cases related to cosmetic procedures in the past year…

Extending his best wishes for the upcoming Lunar New Year, Comrade Bui Dinh Long also expressed his hope that the press would continue to work alongside the province in social welfare work, joining hands to care for the poor and those in difficult circumstances so that they can have a joyful and peaceful Tet holiday.
