Nam Dan needs to limit outstanding debt in new rural construction

That is the direction of comrade Hoang Viet Duong - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council at the meeting with the People's Committee of Nam Dan district on the afternoon of September 27.

Also participating were representatives of the Provincial Fatherland Front and the Provincial Office of New Rural Construction Coordination.

The movement of the whole people joining hands to build new rural areas in the area has been directed by Nam Dan district in a methodical, drastic and creative manner. The results of the New Rural Construction program in Nam Dan have been high, with an average of 17.13 criteria/commune. Up to this point, the whole district has 10/22 communes reaching the new rural finish line, reaching more than 45%.There are 8 communes about to reach the finish line and no commune has less than 10 criteria.

In the process of building new rural areas, the district has diversified resources. In 5 years, the whole district mobilized nearly 1,239 billion VND, of which the commune-level budget reached an average of 7.3 billion VND/commune.

In addition to the results achieved, some members of the monitoring delegation also analyzed and clarified many issues related to ensuring the sustainability of new rural criteria in the area. Specifically, the construction of rural economic models and changes in production organization forms to develop the economy in some areas are not sustainable.

In addition, some localities only focus on building transport infrastructure and cultural facilities but have not paid attention to building rural landscapes. Awareness of protecting and maintaining rural environmental hygiene and food safety is not high.

Currently, there are still cases of officials and party members violating family planning policies, violating gambling... These are issues that affect the sustainability of the criteria of the political and social organization system and security and order...

In particular, the debt situation in new rural areas is still high, with more than 56 billion VND.

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Hoang Viet Duong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council requested the district to pay attention to maintaining and improving the achieved criteria. Strive to build Nam Dan into a national new rural district.

He also suggested that the district should review the criteria in communes that have not yet achieved new rural standards, identify difficult criteria to focus on directing implementation. It is necessary to review resources; not impose on people's mobilization; limit long-term debt, affecting the direction of implementing socio-economic development tasks in the locality.
