Nam Dan district has completed all 9/9 criteria for a new rural district.

(Baonghean.vn) - Concluding the inspection of the new rural district in Nam Dan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Viet Hong requested the district to quickly complete the criteria to submit to the competent authority for recognition of Nam Dan district as meeting the new rural standards.

On the afternoon of December 28th, a delegation from the Provincial People's Committee, led by Vice Chairman Dinh Viet Hong - Head of the Provincial National Target Program Implementation Board for Rural Development, inspected Nam Dan district's achievement of New Rural Development standards. Accompanying the delegation were representatives from various departments, agencies, and the Provincial Coordination Office for the National Target Program for Rural Development.

Before working with Nam Dan district, the delegation directly inspected the criteria for building new rural areas in the locality, such as: production, infrastructure construction, electricity, schools, health stations, transportation, irrigation, and basic cultural institutions.

According to a report from the People's Committee of Nam Dan District: From 2011 to the present, the entire district has mobilized resources to build nearly 100 projects, worth more than 1,500 billion VND. In addition, the people have donated more than 212,350 m² of land.²land, demolition, and relocation of nearly 29,000 m².²fences, contributing nearly 122,000 man-days to the construction of new rural areas.

By the end of 2017, Nam Dan district had 23 out of 23 communes meeting the standards for New Rural Areas. According to self-assessment results, Nam Dan district has now met all 9 criteria for a New Rural Area district, including criteria on planning, transportation, irrigation, electricity, health - culture - education, production, environment, security - order, and criteria on directing the construction of New Rural Areas.

Overall, the implementation of the National Target Program for building new rural areas has created a positive shift in the district's economic structure. Agricultural production has developed towards industrialization and commodity production. Small and medium-sized industrial clusters continue to attract businesses from within and outside the province to invest. Infrastructure is gradually being invested in a comprehensive manner. The material and spiritual lives of the people are increasingly improving.

Following on-site inspections and reports, members of the provincial inspection team provided feedback on the implementation of the criteria for a New Rural District. The feedback indicated that the district had performed well in meeting the criteria, but further improvements were needed in the future, with the aim of developing Nam Dan into a model New Rural District.

Concluding the inspection, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Viet Hong requested the district to quickly complete the criteria to submit to the competent authority for recognition of Nam Dan district as a new rural area; continue to pay attention to implementing some criteria that are still lacking, such as accelerating the construction of large-scale model fields; planning the construction area for the district's solid waste treatment plant; and investing in the construction of a clean water plant according to the approved plan.

Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Dinh Viet Hong, also acknowledged the district's recommendations for the province to consider and resolve in the coming time. The district is also urgently completing the necessary procedures and documents to submit to the Government for recognition as a New Rural Area in 2017.
