Nam Dan completes 9/9 criteria of new rural district

(Baonghean.vn) - Concluding the inspection session of the new rural district in Nam Dan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Viet Hong requested that the district quickly complete the criteria to submit to the competent authority to recognize Nam Dan district as meeting new rural standards.

On the afternoon of December 28, a working delegation of the Provincial People's Committee led by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Viet Hong - Head of the Organizing Committee for the implementation of the National Target Program on Rural Development of the province inspected the district meeting the New Rural Standards in Nam Dan. Accompanying the delegation were representatives of departments, branches, and the Office for Coordination of the implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Development of the province.

Before working with Nam Dan district, the delegation directly inspected the actual criteria for new rural construction in the area such as: production, infrastructure construction, electricity, schools, stations, transportation, internal irrigation, and grassroots cultural institutions.

The report of Nam Dan District People's Committee shows that: From 2011 to now, the whole district has mobilized resources to build nearly 100 construction items, worth more than 1,500 billion VND. In addition, people donated more than 212,350 m²land, dismantle, relocate nearly 29 thousand m²fence, contributing nearly 122 thousand working days to build new rural areas.

By the end of 2017, Nam Dan had 23/23 communes meeting the NTM standards. According to the self-assessment results, Nam Dan district has now met all 9 NTM district standards, including criteria on planning, transportation, irrigation, electricity, health - culture - education, production, environment, security - order and criteria on directing the construction of NTM.

In general, the implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Development has created a positive shift in the economic structure in the district. Agricultural production has developed towards industrialization and commodity production. Small and medium-sized industrial clusters continue to attract domestic and foreign enterprises to invest. Infrastructure has been gradually invested synchronously. The material and spiritual life of the people has been increasingly improved.

Through on-site inspection and listening to reports, members of the provincial inspection team gave their opinions on the implementation of the criteria for a new rural district. The opinions stated that the district had implemented the criteria well, however, it was necessary to continue improving the quality of the criteria in the coming time in the direction of building Nam Dan into a model new rural district.

Concluding the inspection, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Viet Hong requested the district to quickly complete the criteria to submit to the competent authority to recognize Nam Dan district as meeting new rural standards; continue to pay attention to implementing some limited criteria such as accelerating the construction of large-scale fields; Planning the construction area of ​​the district's solid waste treatment plant; investing in the construction of a clean water plant according to the approved project.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Viet Hong also acknowledged the district's recommendations for the province to consider and resolve in the coming time. The district is also urgently completing the procedures and documents to submit to the Government for recognition of the district meeting the NTM standards in 2017./.
