Men are taking the lead in promoting gender equality.
With the message "Men take the lead in promoting gender equality," the seminar was organized to raise awareness and affirm the role of men in promoting gender equality, from the family to the community and the workplace.
On December 11th, in Nghia Dan, the Foundation for Vietnamese Stature (VSF), in collaboration with TH Group and the Vietnam Men's Network for Gender Equality and Sustainable Development (VNMENNET), organized a seminar titled "Men Taking the Lead in Action to Promote Gender Equality".

The seminar was attended by over 200 employees from member companies of the TH Group in Nghia Dan district, Nghe An province. This activity is part of the "Orange Color 2024 - United Action to End Violence Against Women and Girls" campaign, jointly organized by VSF, TH Group, and Bac A Commercial Joint Stock Bank (BAC A BANK), aiming to raise awareness and affirm the role of men in promoting gender equality, from the family to the community and the workplace.

Raising awareness and taking concrete action for gender equality.
The seminar included a roundtable discussion with the participation of two renowned speakers in the field of gender equality and community development: Mr. Dang Hoa Nam - Director of the Department of Children (Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs), journalist Truong Anh Ngoc; and representatives from the TH Group: Ms. Luu Thi Thu Hien - Deputy General Director of TH Dairy Food Joint Stock Company, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung - Director of TH Dairy Factory, Chairman of the Trade Union of TH Dairy Joint Stock Company. Ms. Tran Hong Diep - Director of VSF moderated the roundtable discussion.

Emphasizing the need for efforts from both men and women in promoting gender equality, journalist Truong Anh Ngoc shared about the invisible pressure that men face from traditional gender stereotypes.
"Gender equality is not something women can achieve on their own, nor is it something men can simply concede to in the face of women's struggles for equal rights. Gender equality must come from both sides, so that both can recognize the problems the other is facing, and from there find solutions," he emphasized.

From a state policy perspective, Mr. Dang Hoa Nam, Director of the Department of Children (Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs), affirmed the importance of incorporating gender equality education into all levels of schooling from an early age, as this is the stage where awareness and attitudes about gender begin to form. Building an education system that helps children realize that the value of each person does not depend on gender or gender identity is the most sustainable way to eliminate gender stereotypes and biases, and to promote a generation that respects diversity and equality.
In addition, he also mentioned the government's efforts in building a legal framework to protect the rights of women and girls, as well as encouraging men's participation in awareness campaigns and concrete actions for gender equality.

Commitment to joint action
Offering a practical perspective from the business environment, Ms. Luu Thi Thu Hien - Deputy General Director of TH Dairy Food Joint Stock Company - shared TH Group's experience in creating a friendly and equitable working environment for both men and women, where each individual is encouraged to develop comprehensively through the Diversity - Equity - Inclusion - Engagement (DEI&B) policy and fair recruitment regulations.

In addition to listening to presentations from speakers, attendees also had the opportunity to interact directly, ask questions about gender equality and the role of individuals in changing stereotypes, and share stories of gender inequality they had witnessed or experienced.

In addition to the roundtable discussion, 200 participants also took part in a team game designed to reinforce information and knowledge about gender equality. The game created a lively atmosphere and helped participants gain a deeper understanding of concepts such as gender stereotypes, gender-based violence, and practical actions to promote gender equality in daily life.

A particularly moving and meaningful moment during the seminar was when male representatives from TH Group's member companies in Nghe An participated in the Action Commitment ceremony, affirming their determination to eliminate all forms of gender-based violence.

At the end of the event, more than 200 participants in the panel discussion wrote messages and pledges, affirming their personal responsibility in building an equal and safe society for women and children.

The seminar "Men Taking the Lead in Promoting Gender Equality" is part of the "Orange Color 2024 - United Action to End Violence Against Women and Girls" campaign, jointly organized by VSF, TH Group, and Bac A Commercial Joint Stock Bank (BAC A BANK).

Through activities such as decorating camera corners at nearly 100 offices and branches nationwide, online communication on newspapers, television, social media, and direct communication at 25 TH True Mart stores, organizing internal competitions and seminars, and establishing a livelihood support fund for women who have experienced violence and are in difficult circumstances, the campaign aims to raise community awareness about violence against women and children, while promoting practical actions to support victims of violence.
