The Party Committee and people of Nam Kim are striving, mobilizing all resources, and accelerating towards achieving the new rural development goals in 2016.

Visiting Nam Kim, Nam Dan these days, we witnessed village roads and alleys that have been largely paved with concrete, shaded by green trees, and lined with tall, flat-roofed houses, making the countryside increasingly vibrant.

Mr. Pham Quyet Thang, Secretary of the Party Committee of Nam Kim commune, said: "In the 5 years of implementing the new rural development movement, Nam Kim has undergone a transformation."

In agriculture, the commune has boldly transformed its crop structure, applied scientific and technological advancements, and introduced new varieties into production, contributing to increased crop yields and output. 64% of agricultural land generates an income of 70 million VND/hectare/year.

In addition, many households have boldly invested in purchasing production equipment such as multi-functional plows; 8 transport vehicles and 6 passenger vehicles have created jobs for hundreds of workers with stable incomes, increasing the total value of production from the industry. Organizations and associations have also promoted and facilitated opportunities for young people to work abroad, with an estimated annual income of 48 billion VND. The people's living standards have continuously improved, with an average income of 27.2 million VND per person per year.

Always maintain security and order in the commune.

To date, the commune has constructed 10.7/11.3 km of inter-commune roads (reaching 96.1%). Village and hamlet main roads have been completed at 20.64/36.2 km, reaching 57.02%; and alleyways at 8.7/8.9 km, reaching 97.75%. 21.4/34.5 km of main roads within the fields have been constructed, facilitating the mechanization of farming. In Nam Kim commune, in addition to government support, the commune has implemented specific tasks and targeted specific participants in the new rural development program.

Currently, Nam Kim commune is focusing on completing the remaining three criteria, including the transportation criterion, which involves concreting over 13 km of village roads and laying crushed stone on 12.46 km of main internal field roads.

Nam Kim is on the "final sprint" towards achieving the new rural development goals with the high determination of the entire political system and the expectations of every citizen. The goal of striving to become a model new rural commune by 2016 is becoming a reality.
