Five types of car accessories that are unexpectedly harmful, you should consider when installing them on your car
Steering wheel covers, fake seat belt buckles, rain guards or dashboard decorations... are accessories that not only do not have many benefits when operating but can also be dangerous, greatly affecting driving safety.
Below are 5 car accessories that are of little use and can even be harmful to you, so consider carefully before using or installing them on your car:
1. Steering wheel cover
Leather steering wheel covers are being used by many drivers, not only for aesthetics, but also with the mentality of "keeping the original" of the steering wheel material. In addition, increasing the size of the gripping positions also helps some people feel more comfortable when driving.

However, this is an accessory that many car experts recommend not to use because in emergency situations it can make steering wheel control inaccurate. In particular, if not cleaned regularly, the bottom of the steering wheel cover can easily accumulate water, dirt, ... making it a real bacteria nest, greatly affecting the people sitting in the car.
2. Rain cover
The purpose of the rain visor is to prevent water from splashing inside when the window is lowered to create a gap in rainy conditions or when parking in the sun for better air circulation. This is an accessory that many people install and many showrooms also give away to customers. However, this accessory is not without its weaknesses, even causing danger to the driver.

According to many car owners, the rain shield can partially obscure the view, especially in the A-pillar area. This accessory also increases the car's wind resistance, causing a "buzzing" sound to echo inside the car. In addition, after a period of use, the rain shield will age, the adhesive layer will no longer stick firmly, making this accessory flimsy, and when peeled off, it will be jagged, affecting the aesthetics.
3. Dashboard decorations
Many car owners have a hobby of displaying all kinds of things on the dashboard, from wooden and stone statues to toy models, decorative panels, perfumes, crystal balls, etc. These decorative objects are sometimes quite "huge" in size, not only confusing, obstructing vision and distracting the driver, but also have the potential to become a big danger in emergency situations.

When the vehicle accelerates rapidly or in a collision, the inertial force can cause them to break the windshield or injure passengers. Worse, if these accessories are placed on the surface covering the passenger side airbag, the airbag explodes with great force, possibly seriously injuring the occupants in the cockpit.
4. Fake seat belt buckle
Fake seat belt buckles are being sold in the market at super cheap prices. Unfortunately, many Vietnamese people are not aware of the importance of wearing seat belts when sitting in cars, so this accessory sells quite well. Car owners who are lazy to use seat belts often use this accessory to avoid hearing the warning sound continuously.

However, when a collision occurs, not wearing a seat belt makes the casualty rate much higher. Airbag deployment can also cause the occupants to break their necks if they do not wear a seat belt properly. Therefore, immediately remove this accessory and get into the habit of wearing a seat belt properly every time you get in the car, even in the back seat.
5. Wooden bead seat covers
Wooden or plastic bead seat covers are also items that many car owners spend money to install on their cars to help keep the seats cool, especially in the summer. However, experts say that these beads should not be used because they can make driving unsafe.

With the characteristic of being quite slippery and easily dislodged, the driver will sometimes have an uncomfortable sitting position when driving, especially when pressing the clutch and brake. In addition, the wooden grain set also makes the car interior heavy, cramped, difficult to clean and gives a "cheap" feeling.
