(Baonghean.vn) -With a score of 28.65, Phan Si Trung, a 12th-grade student from Dang Thuc Hua High School (Thanh Chuong), is leading the entrance exam for Block B at the school, and also achieved a high score of 27.4 in Block A. Trung is not only outstanding academically, but is also known as a skillful and multi-talented student.

Trung is the second of three sisters in a farming family; his eldest sister has already graduated from university. His mother works abroad, and his father is a construction worker. For many years, Phan Sĩ Trung has seemingly taken over all the household chores from his mother.

Despite having many household chores to do, Trung still achieved many academic successes. In grades 8 and 9, Trung won second prize in the district-level excellent student competition and third prize in the provincial-level excellent student competition in Biology. In grade 11, he won second prize in the provincial-level excellent student competition in both Biology and Chemistry.

Particularly in the recent National High School Graduation Examination, Trung achieved high scores in both subject groups. Group B: 28.65 points (Mathematics 9.4; Biology 9.25; Chemistry 10); Group A: 27.4 points. With these results, Trung is leading in the Group B admission scores and is among the top scorers in Group A at Dang Thuc Hua High School.

Trung said that besides studying in class, he often studies in groups with friends at home and participates in online review sessions to supplement and improve his knowledge. To get high scores on multiple-choice tests, Trung believes that in addition to mastering textbook knowledge, one needs to do many exercises, hone their thinking skills, quickly identify question types, and react quickly to challenging problems.

Trung was a little disappointed with his Biology exam results, as a mistake resulted in a lower score than he had hoped. Actually, he only focused on studying Biology after the Lunar New Year. Before that, he concentrated on the science stream (Group A) with the goal of joining the police force, but since the Ministry of Public Security announced the change in exam groups, Trung had to study Biology to prepare for the science stream (Group B). Trung admitted: “The change in exam groups affected me psychologically, but in the final stages, my family encouraged me, and I adjusted my study methods, so luckily I still achieved good results.”

In class, Trung is an exemplary and enthusiastic class vice-president, actively participating in group activities with his friends. Trung said: "I'm often assigned by the teacher to tutor students with weaker academic performance, so I'm quite busy because they often ask for help with homework. However, through that, I also grasp the knowledge better."

Not only is Trung a good student, but he is also skillful and multi-talented. All the bamboo items in his house, such as baskets, sieves, and winnowing trays, are woven by him. Although he majors in science, Trung is the class's top poet. He can spontaneously compose many poems in various genres. Trung also plays many traditional Vietnamese musical instruments such as the flute and the zither… he always carries his flute with him wherever he goes. Trung confides that music helps him relieve stress after school and brings joy to his friends and family.

Mr. Phan Si Bang, Trung's father, said: "Trung is a good son. Although busy with his studies, he has managed to take care of many family matters. When we learned his exam results, we were overjoyed. No matter how difficult things get, we are determined to support his education until the end."

Mr. Pham Kim Chung, homeroom teacher of class 12A, shared: “Trung is a gentle, calm student, an exemplary class officer, and has a solid academic foundation. Last school year, Trung had the honor of joining the Party.”

With the results achieved in the recent exam, Phan Si Trung hopes to be admitted to Hanoi Medical University to become a skilled doctor and contribute to curing diseases and helping people.
