Hue National School male student wins Olympia 2016

With 340 points, Ho Dac Thanh Chuong from Quoc Hoc High School for the Gifted in Hue became the champion of the Road to Olympia 2016 contest with a prize of 35,000 USD.

On the morning of August 21, the final round of the Road to Olympia competition took place at VTV studio (Hanoi). The 4 contestants competing were Lam Vu Tuan (High SchoolLe Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Nam Dinh), Ho Dac Thanh Chuong (Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted, Thua Thien - Hue), Phan Tien Tung (Nguyen Du High School for the Gifted, Dak Lak) and Le Duy Bach (Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted).

Throughout the competition, Thanh Chuong always showed composure when giving answers. Even in pIn the warm-up part, the 11th grade student from Quoc Hoc Hue made his teammates admire him when he answered 11 out of 12 questions, winning 110 points.

Participating in the first round with a relaxed and calm mind, Lam Vu Tuan answered 9/12 questions, achieving 90 points. Only Tien TungBecause of the nervousness and pressure from the good warm-up of the two, they only got 80 points with 8 correct answers, equal to Duy Bach's score.

In the second round of the Obstacle Course, right after the question in the second row, Tien Tung pressed the signal to answer. However, that was not the answer so Tung had to stop the second round here. At the fourth row question, Thanh Chuong took the right to give the answer. With the answer “Son Tinh, Thuy Tinh”, the Hue boy won the second round.

At the end of this round, Thanh Chuong temporarily took the lead with 160 points, followed by Vu Tuan with 110 points, Tien Tung with 90 points and Duy Bach with 80 points.

The Speed ​​Round was considered an opportunity for contestants to turn the tide. Duy Bach accelerated with two fastest answers, winning 80 points and one quick question in third place, earning 20 points, bringing the total score to 170. Vu Tuan also scored 170 points. Tien Tung scored 140 points and Thanh Chuong was still in the lead with 250 points.

The Finish Line is an opportunity for contestants to increase their scores, with 3 questions worth 40 points, 60 points and 80 points.Vu Tuan confidently chose the 80-point question package and placed a star of hope on the first question. And he answered all 3 questions correctly, winning 270 points after all 4 rounds.

Thanh Chuong chose the 60-point question package. Still keeping the same composure as in the first round, Thanh Chuong finished with all 3 correct answers. As a result, he won 310 points.

Not having a good race from the previous rounds, Tien Tung still played his best in the Finishing round with the 80-point question package and the hopeful star for the last question. However, Tung did not get any points so the total score stopped at 140.

Meanwhile, Thanh Chuong won 30 more points in Tien Tung's question package, bringing his total score to 340. Duy Bach finished the test with a question package of 80 points, his final score was 160.

In the end, with 340 points, Thanh Chuong was the first person to have the highest score in the 16 finals of the Road to Olympia, winning the prize of 35,000 USD.“I am very happy. All my friends are good, I won because I was a little luckier,” Thanh Chuong modestly shared.

Chuong said the secret to doing well in the exams is to be calm, confident, and not put too much pressure on the score. He always tries to balance his schoolwork and supplement his knowledge to participate in the program.

For Lam Vu Tuan, even though he only came in second, he seemed satisfied with his performance: “I didn’t win, but I have no regrets. I played my best. Thanh Chuong completely deserved it, he is very good,” Tuan shared.
