After shining his car headlights into someone else's face, leading to a conflict, a young man was beaten to death by a gang.

Police in District 12, Ho Chi Minh City, said they are temporarily detaining and investigating a group of young men who beat a man to death after a dispute over having their faces shined by car headlights.

This group of young men includes Vo Xuan Hao (born in 1997, from Binh Dinh), Le Hoang Thang (born in 1992, from Quang Ngai), Nguyen Dang Minh Su (born in 1997, Binh Dinh) and Nguyen Dang Thanh Nam (born in 1992, Binh Thanh district, Ho Chi Minh City).

The subjects were arrested.

Previously on September 9, Hao was sitting and talking with his girlfriend at a rented room in District 12. At that time, Pham Thanh Binh (born in 1996) and Pham Thai Viet (born in 1998), both from Ninh Binh, happened to pass by, letting their headlights shine on Hao's face.

Angry at being shined a light in his face, Hao got into a conflict and argued with Binh and Viet. To intimidate their opponents, Binh and Viet called 6 other young men to attack, causing Hao to be slightly injured.

On September 10, Hao sat drinking with a group of friends, recounted the beating and discussed revenge. The group went to Binh and Viet's rented room and saw Viet with a woman.

The group of young men called Viet out to talk but were ignored. Angry, Nam, Hao, and Su rushed in and attacked Viet with their hands and feet, causing the victim to fall to the floor.

At this moment, Thang ran over, grabbed a metal tobacco pipe, about 60cm long, that was in the room and hit Viet straight on the head.

Seeing Viet collapse, the group fled the scene. Although Viet was taken to the emergency room, he died of a traumatic brain injury./.
