Young man clings to railing and jumps off Ben Thuy 1 bridge.
(Baonghean.vn) - A young man dangled from the railing of Ben Thuy 1 bridge, then slowly let go and fell into the Lam River despite attempts by onlookers to stop him.
On the afternoon of July 19th, the Waterway Police Department (PC68) of the Nghe An Provincial Police announced that they had rescued a young man suspected of jumping off the Ben Thuy 1 bridge to commit suicide.

Accordingly, at approximately 4:30 PM on July 19th, the Waterway Police Department received a report from the public in the area of Ben Thuy 1 Bridge about a young man exhibiting signs of drug intoxication who intended to jump off the bridge to commit suicide.
Immediately, the Waterway Police task force used a specialized speedboat to approach the scene. As the task force arrived at the foot of Ben Thuy 1 Bridge, they discovered a young man hanging from the bridge's railing.
Despite being persuaded and advised by the police officers, the young man ignored them all and then slowly let himself fall into the Lam River.
Thanks to their timely arrival, the Nghe An Water Police task force successfully implemented rescue plans. The identity of the young man who jumped off the bridge was later confirmed as Nguyen Van Truyen (born in 1994), residing in Xuan Thanh commune, Nghi Xuan district, Ha Tinh province.
The Waterway Police Department has now handed Mr. Truyen over to his family.
