Disillusioned with V.League, does Van Toan want to play in J.League?
Van Toan expressed his desire to play abroad to relieve the pressure from the press.
Following their success at the AFC U23 Asian Championship, Van Toan, like many of his teammates, spent a lot of time on meet-and-greet events and interviews with the press. The player from Hai Duong even expressed a desire to play abroad to... relieve the pressure.

"I think competing abroad is a challenge for myself. I also hope to compete abroad in the near future. This year I've been thinking about competing overseas, as it would relieve some of the pressure of not being under so much scrutiny from the public or the media."
Van Toan's dream destination is the J.League, where his close friends Cong Phuong and Tuan Anh used to play. "I think foreign leagues like Japan, Korea, or Thailand are all very good. If I could try my luck in those countries, I think it would be better for me. I hope to play in Japan."
