Enhance accountability in the assessment and approval of information posted by media outlets on social media accounts.
This was one of the key points emphasized at the Nghe An Provincial Press Briefing Conference in January 2026, held on the morning of January 6th.
The conference was jointly organized by the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Provincial Journalists Association.
Comrades Pham Ngoc Canh - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; and Nguyen Ba Hao - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, chaired the conference.
In December/In 2025, central and local press agencies operating in the province provided accurate and timely information, contributing to promoting the image of Nghe An, disseminating information about the activities of the Party committee, government, and functional forces, and reflecting some issues of public concern.
Accordingly, some of the prominent topics and contents in December 2025 that will be reported and publicized by the press include: Meetings of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee; the 35th session of the 18th Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026; activities commemorating the 81st anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army; activities to congratulate religious leaders and parishes on the occasion of Christmas 2025 by provincial leaders; outstanding achievements in the socio-economic field; the acceleration of the implementation of key projects; public investment projects, etc.
In addition, existing problems and limitations such as: the slow progress of many projects; the delay in repairing damage to many construction projects after floods, affecting people's lives; unusual and suspicious signs in large-scale charitable activities; hundreds of teachers and contract staff facing unpaid wages and job insecurity due to changes in management mechanisms; and high-tech fraud at the end of the year... were also given significant attention and reported by the press.
At the conference, representatives from media agencies congratulated Nghe An province on its outstanding achievements in 2025. They also acknowledged and highly appreciated the positive changes and breakthroughs in the leadership and management of the province. Journalists' opinions reflected on issues related to facilitating media work, including requests for guidance on procedures for licensing the use of drones for journalistic purposes; and directives for relevant departments, agencies, and localities to promptly address issues raised by the press.
Regarding the orientation of propaganda tasks in the coming period, Comrade Pham Ngoc Canh - Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Provincial Party Committee - requested that media agencies strengthen propaganda work on the 14th National Congress of the Party; the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and the election of deputies to People's Councils at all levels for the 2025-2031 term.
Press agencies should strengthen the development of articles and programs that highlight and elaborate on the achievements in various fields in 2025; emphasizing the directives and management of leaders at all levels in the decisive implementation of key tasks and solutions to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, restore production and business, boost consumption, and serve the needs of the people celebrating the Lunar New Year and the New Year 2026.
Regarding issues related to people's lives at the end of the year, such as salaries, Tet bonuses, living costs, and amendments to social insurance policies, it is requested that media agencies increase information on the Party and State's policies to care for, support, and ensure the people's livelihoods; and strengthen the dissemination of information on the efforts of all levels, sectors, governments, organizations, and businesses in ensuring income, salaries, and Tet bonuses for workers.
The Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department also requested that media agencies strengthen management and enhance responsibility in evaluating, selecting, and approving the publication of information from media agencies on social media accounts under their management; control comments, ensure information security and safety, strictly manage content, and strictly comply with Party regulations and laws.
