On the morning of May 15, the Hanoi City leadership delegation led by Mr. Dao Duc Toan - Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee had a working session with the Standing Committee of Nghe An province on the results of cooperation between Nghe An province and Hanoi city in the past time, orientation from now to 2020 and the following years.

Promote comprehensive development

According to the assessment, the implementation of cooperation contents between Nghe An province and Hanoi city has achieved many good results in recent times, contributing to promoting socio-economic development, promoting the strengths of each locality, ensuring national defense - security and social security.

To date, there are 76 investment projects in production and business of Hanoi enterprises and investors in Nghe An with a total registered capital of 48,000 billion VND. Every year, enterprises located in Hanoi have received about 3,500 - 4,500 students from vocational training institutions in Nghe An to practice and work.

In recent years, Hanoi has paid attention and provided support from the budget for the Nghe An Province Poverty Reduction Fund with 7 billion VND; and provided relief to people affected by natural disasters with 4 billion VND.

Besides the achieved results, the two sides affirmed that the cooperation is not commensurate with the potential, advantages, geographical distance and strengths of each locality.

At the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Dac Vinh reported on the socio-economic development results of Nghe An province in recent times; at the same time, he affirmed that in addition to the efforts of the Party Committee, the government and the people of the province, there is also the attention and support of the Central Government and localities in general, as well as the practical, effective and cooperative support of the Party Committee, the government and the people of Hanoi city.

Expressing his gratitude for the attention of Hanoi city, comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh affirmed that this working session with Hanoi leaders is of great significance, an opportunity for the two sides to evaluate the results of cooperation in various fields; exchange, discuss, and provide information for the two localities to exploit and promote their potential and advantages, together build a clean and strong Party and political system that operates effectively and efficiently; promote socio-economic development, and ensure national defense and security of the two provinces and cities.

The Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee proposed that Hanoi pay attention to cooperation, exchange and share experiences to help Nghe An in 6 areas: socio-economic development; administrative reform; building civilized and smart urban areas; national defense and security; ensuring social security; and cooperation in tourism development.

Elevating cooperation

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dao Duc Toan expressed his impression and congratulated the achievements that the Party Committee, government and people of Nghe An province have achieved in recent times.

In 2018, the overall gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth rate of Hanoi reached 7.61%; in the first quarter of 2019, it reached 6.99%; foreign investment attraction in 2018 reached 7.5 billion USD; in the first quarter of 2019, it reached 4.47 billion USD; Hanoi's budget revenue in 2018 reached 240 trillion VND; it is expected that in 2019, the budget revenue will reach 278 billion VND. Up to now, Hanoi has 83.68% of communes meeting new rural standards, 4 districts meeting new rural standards.The cultural - social and social security fields have positive changes, national defense and security are ensured.

To enhance the level of cooperation in depth and substance between the two localities, the Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee proposed signing a memorandum of cooperation between Hanoi city and Nghe An province.

Through discussions at this meeting, the two localities will assign the agency in charge of the connection to review the contents and work to implement the signing of a cooperation memorandum between Hanoi and Nghe An on the occasion of the 65th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 2019).

In the immediate future, the two sides need to immediately start supporting the sharing of experiences in the fields of administrative reform, urban management, and ensuring national defense and security.

The leaders of the two localities also affirmed that they will increase meetings, exchanges, and experiences in work in areas that are strengths and interests of each locality to support each other for mutual development.
