Elevating the CIENCO4 brand

(Baonghean) - Not only has it left a strong mark on key projects in Nghe An, but the Construction Corporation No. 4 - JSC (CIENCO4) is also a unit that always accompanies and works closely with the social activities of the province.

A strong mark on key projects.

In 2016, the Construction Corporation No. 4 (CIENCO4) made a breakthrough in its thinking and working methods, creating momentum for CIENCO4 to gradually overcome difficulties and continue to maintain stable and solid growth. The company's output value in 2016 reached nearly 17,000 billion VND, revenue was estimated at over 16,000 billion VND, and the average income of employees throughout the corporation was nearly 10.5 million VND/person/month.

The Yen Xuan Bridge across the Lam River officially connects the two banks, bridging the gap and opening up new prospects for the people living on both sides of the Lam River. (The project was constructed by the General Construction Corporation of Transport Works No. 4).

A significant achievement in 2016 was the completion and ongoing construction of 13 key projects by the Construction Corporation No. 4, including 11 construction projects and 2 investment projects. Among these in Nghe An province were the Yen Xuan Road Bridge Project with a total investment of 730 billion VND, completed on September 3, 2016 (9 months ahead of schedule). The Nghe An port complex included: Vissai Port (construction value over 317 billion VND, completion date April 30, 2017) and DKC Oil and Gas Port (construction value 139 billion VND, completion date May 30, 2017).

Thanks to technological innovation, improved production organization, high-quality human resource training methods, and advanced management models, the company has achieved outstanding results in terms of quality, progress, and labor productivity in production. In November 2016, Construction Corporation No. 4 was honored to receive the Outstanding Enterprise Award at the Asia-Pacific International Quality Award Ceremony (New Zealand).

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Huynh - Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director, along with leaders of several member companies, received the Asia-Pacific International Quality Award 2016.

This is a prestigious award that major companies in the Asia-Pacific region aspire to achieve. This event once again affirms and recognizes the efforts of the leadership, staff, and employees of CIENCO4 in building the Corporation into a leading brand in investment and construction of the country's transportation infrastructure.

Continue to implement effective investment projects.

While many transportation construction companies face numerous difficulties in raising capital for production and business, CIENCO4 has successfully increased its charter capital to expand its investment areas. Less than a year after its equitization, in early 2015, CIENCO4 increased its charter capital from VND 600 billion to VND 720 billion.

To utilize this capital effectively, in addition to continuing to invest in and purchase more modern equipment for civil and transportation construction, the Corporation's immediate goal will be to focus on investing in three areas: investing in efficient and safe transportation infrastructure projects under the PPP model, forming joint ventures with foreign corporations to invest in and operate industrial park infrastructure, and implementing several strategic real estate projects.

CIENCO4 and Hemaraj Group (Thailand) have signed an investment agreement with the People's Committee of Nghe An province regarding the project to invest in the construction and operation of industrial and urban infrastructure in the Southeast Economic Zone (Nghe An).

According to Mr. Nguyen Tuan Huynh, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of CIENCO4 (Vietnam Construction Corporation No. 4), "To achieve the goals of stability and sustainable development, CIENCO4 will continue to invest in the construction of transportation infrastructure projects under the PPP model, leveraging existing strengths to expand investment into high-efficiency sectors such as hydropower, thermal power, industrial parks, seaports, and real estate... Gradually realizing the goal of transforming the Corporation into a multi-industry economic group."

Accordingly, on October 5, 2016, CIENCO4 and Hemaraj Group (Thailand) signed an investment agreement with the People's Committee of Nghe An province for the investment project to build and operate industrial and urban infrastructure in the Southeast Economic Zone (Nghe An) worth 23,000 billion VND (approximately 1 billion USD). This is a very large-scale project divided into 7 phases, expected to start implementation in 2017 and be completed in 2038. Previously, in April 2016, CIENCO4 partnered with TECCO Corporation to establish TECCO - CIENCO4 Real Estate Investment Joint Stock Company to implement several real estate projects in Ho Chi Minh City, Vinh City, and Hanoi.

Currently, in addition to accelerating the progress of projects under preparation for investment such as: the construction project of the connecting road from National Highway 91 to the Nam Song Hau road in Can Tho City; the Hieu 2 Bridge project in Nghia Dan, Nghe An; the Cau Cau mixed-use tourism and resort complex in Thanh Chuong, Nghe An with a total investment of 1,532 billion VND; the Do Cung Bridge - Cua Hoi Bridge; the Nam Cam Industrial Park project in Tho Loc; the Cua Lo deep-water port project, the Dong Lam port project… the General Corporation's leadership always pays special attention to market research and job creation.

If the investment plan is approved by the Government, it is expected that at the Spring 2017 Investor Meeting, Nghe An province will award investment certificates to the Corporation for the implementation of key projects in the province, namely: Hieu 2 Bridge Project, Nghia Dan, Nghe An; Cau Cau Mixed-Use Tourism and Resort Area, Thanh Chuong, Nghe An with a total investment of VND 1,532 billion; and Nam Cam Industrial Park Project, Tho Loc. BIDV Bank of Vietnam will continue to provide credit financing to help the Corporation accelerate construction progress, shorten implementation time, and bring these projects into effective operation as soon as possible, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.

Supporting social welfare activities

Alongside boosting production and business activities, CIENCO4 also pays special attention to social welfare and community development. In particular, the lifelong care and support of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers is a tradition of the Corporation throughout its development. Currently, CIENCO4 Construction Corporation is providing lifelong support to 25 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers nationwide, including 23 in Nghe An province. In addition to monthly allowances, CIENCO4's staff and employees regularly visit and encourage the families and relatives of these mothers during holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year).

Every year, CIENCO4 actively participates in social and charitable activities such as: the "Warm Tet in the Border Region" program, "Tet for the Poor", "Caring for the Mekong Delta", donating gifts to families in need; participating in the "New Rural Development" program, "Cattle Bank" program; supporting people in flood-affected areas; establishing the "Trade Union Shelter" fund; awarding scholarships to outstanding students, and supporting poor but academically gifted students.

Contributing to local efforts in building charitable houses, sharing the difficulties with less fortunate individuals, and actively participating in social welfare programs and activities called for by social organizations, CIENCO4 has donated tens of billions of VND. Specifically during the Lunar New Year of 2017, CIENCO4 allocated over 2 billion VND from its welfare fund to provide Tet gifts to the poor in various localities.
