NATO may deploy allied troops in Estonia.

According to RIA Novosti on August 3rd, the ERR Television and Radio Company reported, in reference to the Estonian Ministry of Defence, that NATO may deploy a German-Dutch allied corps in the Estonian city of Pärnu.

"In the event of a positive scenario, the corps' base should be the city of Pärnu. A final decision is expected to be made within the next year," the message stated.

As part of the deployment of the Allied Corps in Estonia, the coalition will build infrastructure for 100-200 personnel, including headquarters buildings, technical rooms, and necessary communications facilities. The Estonian Ministry of Defence plans to allocate 17 million euros for this, the article states.

"This will affect not only our allies performing command functions, but also Estonian military personnel, including conscripts. This is a strategically important step for the Defence Forces," ERR quoted Estonian Defence Minister Hanno Pevkur as saying.

Additionally, according to the Wall Street Journal, NATO countries will voluntarily contribute funds to the alliance's new account to purchase American weapons for Ukraine.

"Those who support Ukraine will create a new NATO custodian account to allow allies to purchase billions of dollars worth of American weapons for Ukraine. The idea is that NATO allies will voluntarily contribute money to a new account," the Wall Street Journal reported, citing information from three Western officials.

Notably, the new commander of NATO's armed forces in Europe, General Alexis Grinkevich, will be responsible for analyzing the weapons requested by Kyiv. At the same time, weapons will be sent after "comparing Ukraine's requirements with the military needs of the United States." In the initial phase, approximately $10 billion is expected to be spent on weapons.
