NATO launches Poseidon 2023 naval exercise.
(Baonghean.vn) - According to the TASS news agency, the mine response exercise brought together more than 750 participants from 9 NATO member countries.

Specifically, Romanian radio reported that NATO launched its multinational naval exercise, Poseidon 2023, at the Romanian port of Constanta on July 15.
The mine response exercise involved 750 soldiers from nine NATO member countries: Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Greece, Italy, Romania, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The exercise was organized and coordinated by the Romanian Navy.
Romanian Navy Rear Admiral Corneliu Eudjen Kozakaru stated: “We conduct these exercises to ensure that transportation in this area is mine-free, so that when such a device is detected, we are ready to neutralize it.”
The exercise is alternately hosted annually by Romania and Bulgaria. This year, it is being held at the port of Constanta and in training areas in the western Black Sea. The Romanian Navy will inspect the corvette Regina Maria for its participation in the NATO Response Force as part of the force package Romania has provided to NATO and the European Union. Poseidon 2023 also dedicates time to practicing cooperation between agencies in the event of a catastrophic natural disaster.
