NATO will deploy four battalions in countries bordering Russia.

NATO will deploy four multinational battalions to the Baltic states and Poland before June of this year.

This information was released yesterday by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg when he announced the military alliance's 2016 annual report.

According to the plan, four battalions will be deployed to Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland.

"At least 17 member states will contribute troops to these four battalions. And we believe that all four battalions will be in combat positions before June," he said.

Recently, the US and NATO have been increasing their military presence in areas bordering Russia in response to what they call a "threat" from Moscow.
