This information was given by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg yesterday when he announced the 2016 annual report of this military alliance.
According to the plan, four battalions will be deployed to Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland.
"At least 17 member states will contribute troops to these four battalions. And we believe that all four battalions will be in operational position by June," he said.
Recently, the US and NATO have been increasing their military presence in areas close to Russia's borders in response to the so-called "threat" from Moscow.
