"The Russian Air Force did not attack residential areas in Eastern Ghouta, and moreover, in contrast to the US-led international coalition, Russia did not use incendiary munitions. The news spread by fraudsters – the 'White Helmets,' as well as the so-called 'Syrian Human Rights Observatory' of the UK – about human suffering is deliberate lies," the statement said.
According to a survey of hundreds of East Ghouta residents who reached safe areas with the assistance of the Russian Reconciliation Center, the so-called "White Helmets" representatives only operate in areas controlled by the "Dzhebhat en-Nusra" terrorists (banned in Russia), the Russian Ministry of Defense said. The Ministry added that East Ghouta residents never received any assistance from them.As the Ministry of Defence emphasized, this information was also confirmed by representatives of the opposition armed groups who decided to leave East Ghouta and move to the Idlib de-escalation zone.
"Therefore, the blind willingness of certain European media outlets to quote any misinformation with reference to 'White Helmets' sources is once again astonishing," the Russian Ministry of Defense statement added.
