On June 29, the Russian Defense Ministry held a mobile meeting of military leaders, summarizing the inspection of units, joint troops and the Baltic Fleet command.

During the meeting, agency heads and members of the Ministry of National Defense's military council "strictly and principledly assessed" the performance of military officers who revealed serious shortcomings in the performance of their duties.

As a result, the commander of the Baltic Fleet, chiefs and a number of military officers were suspended, as well as dismissed from the army.

The Baltic Fleet commander was punished for "serious shortcomings in the organization of combat training, in the daily activities of the force, failure to implement all necessary measures to improve the living conditions of servicemen, lack of attention to subordinates, as well as false reporting on the state of work".
