On June 29, the Russian Ministry of Defense held a mobile meeting of military leaders to summarize the inspection of units, combined forces, and the Baltic Fleet command.
During the meeting, the heads of agencies and members of the Ministry of Defense's military council conducted a "strict and principled assessment" of the performance of military officers, revealing serious shortcomings in the fulfillment of their duties.
As a result, the commander of the Baltic Fleet, senior officers, and several other military personnel were suspended and placed on the list of those to be dismissed from the military.
The commander of the Baltic Fleet received the punishment for "serious shortcomings in organizing combat training, in the daily operations of the force, failing to implement all necessary measures to improve the living conditions of servicemen, lacking concern for subordinates, and providing inaccurate reports on the state of affairs."
