ZALA AERO GROUP's UAV products (part of Kalashnikov Group) will not be controlled by commands from strange sources. If contact with the base is lost, the UAV will switch to independent operation mode and return to its starting position.
The new Zala 16E5 drone is capable of aerial reconnaissance, operating continuously for up to 16 hours and transmitting images to the operator at a distance of 150 km.
The UAV's electronics include a camera and a night vision device, and thermal imaging. The images are superimposed, making it possible to monitor the terrain at any time of the day.
ZALA representative, Mr. Nikita Khamitov said: "UAV 16E5 DVS is in the testing process, expected to be completed by the end of 2016."
He added that the UAV is planned to be delivered to the National Guard for testing in early 2017.
The Zala 16E5 is a compact drone that looks like a small plane. With a wingspan of more than 5 meters, this UAV weighs no more than 30 kg and takes off using a catapult./.
