Russia develops 'invulnerable' drone.

Sputnik reports that Russia's Federal Service for the National Guard (FSVNG) will be equipped with unique unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) capable of countering enemy electronic warfare attacks.

The UAVs produced by ZALA AERO GROUP (part of the Kalashnikov concern) will not be controlled by commands from unknown sources; if contact with the base is lost, the UAV will switch to independent operation mode and return to its starting position.

The new Zala 16E5 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is capable of aerial reconnaissance, operates continuously for up to 16 hours, and transmits images to the operator at a distance of 150 km.

The UAV's electronics include cameras, night vision devices, and thermal imaging equipment. These images are superimposed, facilitating terrain monitoring at any time of day.

Nikita Khamitov, a representative of ZALA, stated: "The 16E5 DVS UAV is currently undergoing testing, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2016."

He added that the plan was to provide these UAVs to the National Guard for testing in early 2017.

The Zala 16E5 is a compact unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that resembles a small airplane. With a wingspan of just over 5 meters, this UAV weighs no more than 30 kg and takes off using a catapult.
