In a recent statement, Deputy General Director of Russia's Rosoboronexport Corporation, Mr. Sergey Goreslavsky, said that the "Open Partnership" policy has created advantages for Russia and India to strengthen cooperation in the defense sector, especially in the "Make in India" initiative towards technology transfer.
Responding to a question about whether Russia is losing market share in India in the defense sector, Mr. Goreslavsky said: “No. There are many reasons to hope that Russian technology will be expanded here (India), even more in the future.”
According to him, for India, Russia is the most attractive and open partner in the field of technology transfer.
He also stressed that India has been, is and will remain Russia's main strategic partner in the field of military-technical cooperation.
According to Mr. Goreslavsky, the concept of “comprehensive security system” includes a range of utilities, including the “safe city” system, special technologies for monitoring borders, ensuring the security of facilities, identifying the attributes of individuals within the framework of anti-terrorist operations, as well as monitoring violations of state borders.
The system includes special small arms, special vehicle protection equipment, small ANSAT or Ka-226 class helicopters as well as mobile centers for organizing security operations in remote areas.
The system was deployed to ensure security at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics and has now been upgraded.
