Russia may "ban" more American politicians.
(Baonghean.vn) - Reuters reported on August 24th that Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, in an interview with a Russian magazine published that same day, affirmed that Moscow could ban more American politicians from entering Russian territory. This is part of a response to the new round of US sanctions against Russia.

According to the plan, the US will impose a new round of sanctions on Russia starting August 27, potentially preventing Russia from accessing sensitive goods related to US national security.
Speaking to Russia's International Life magazine, Deputy Minister Ryabkov said: "We can react proportionally, disproportionately, or we can extend our list of 'sanctioned' politicians."
"It really doesn't have to be a 100% retaliatory response. We can't compete with the US economically because we're on different levels," he stated.
The Russian diplomat's comments were published one day after US National Security Advisor John Bolton met with his Russian counterpart in Geneva, in the highest-level bilateral meeting since Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin met in Helsinki, Finland, last month.
Ryabkov told the magazine *International Life* that Moscow has yet to receive any signals that the US is ready to normalize relations, and has taken note of Washington's attempts to reconsider the interim agreements reached by Putin and Trump at last month's summit.
