Russia and Belarus produce 5th generation Su-75
Russia will build the fifth-generation Su-75 fighter jet together with Belarus.
According to RIA Novosti on November 19, General Director of Rosoboronexport (under the State Corporation Rostec) Alexander Mikheev shared at an exhibition in Dubai that Russia plans to manufacture the 5th generation light fighter Su-75 Checkmate together with Belarus.
"Rosoboronexport is currently working on the issue of joint production of the fifth-generation Su-75 Checkmate fighter with Belarusian partners. Interest in this aircraft remains in the Middle East and Asia-Pacific regions," said General Director Alexander Mikheev.
For the first time, the Su-75 development versions of "Sukhoi" were presented at the MAKS-2021 air show. The presentation of the fighter model took place at the Dubai Airshow 2021.
General Director Mikheev previously reported that Checkmate could become a platform for jointly developing a new aircraft with partners from other countries.
In addition, Mr. Mikheev also added about the 5th generation fighter Su-57, whose combat effectiveness is not inferior to the similar American F-35. At the same time, he emphasized that Russia's task is not to replace the F-35 in foreign markets, because it "is a matter of demand."
The Dubai Airshow is one of the world's leading exhibitions for the aerospace and defense industry. This year's forum takes place from November 17 to 21 in Dubai. Innovations in aviation, space, and defense will be showcased at the event. In addition, flight demonstrations and conferences will also be held there.
