Russia ranks 2nd in the world's strongest military rankings
(Baonghean.vn) - The Global Firepower Portal released a ranking of the world's strongest armies, in which the Russian army ranked 2nd.
According to the Global Firepower Index 2024, Russia ranks second in the world's strongest military rankings, after the United States.
The Global Firepower Rankings use more than 60 separate factors to determine a given national military's PowerIndex score, with categories ranging from unit numbers and financial standing, to logistics capabilities and geography.
A total of 145 national militaries were reviewed and evaluated.
The US military is at the top with a combat power index of 0.0699. Russia is at the second position with an index of 0.0702. In the third position is China with 0.0706. Outside the top 3 countries, the next positions in the top 10 are India, South Korea, UK, Japan, Türkiye, Pakistan and Italy in 10th place.
At the end of October 2023, the US News & World Report magazine recognized the Russian army as the strongest in the world. According to this ranking, the US ranked 2nd, China 3rd, Israel 4th, and South Korea 5th.
Meanwhile, Professor John Mearsheimer of the University of Chicago said that the Russian army has become even more powerful since the start of the special military campaign.
