Russia ranks 2nd in the world's strongest army rankings
(Baonghean.vn) - The Global Firepower Portal released a ranking of the world's strongest armies, in which the Russian army ranked 2nd.
According to the Global Firepower Index 2024, Russia ranks second in the world's strongest military rankings, after the United States.
The Global Firepower Rankings use more than 60 separate factors to determine a given national military's PowerIndex score, with categories ranging from unit size, and financial health, to logistical capabilities and geography.
A total of 145 national militaries were reviewed and evaluated.
The US military ranks first with a combat power index of 0.0699. Russia ranks second with an index of 0.0702. China ranks third with 0.0706. In addition to the top 3 countries, the next positions in the top 10 are India, South Korea, the UK, Japan, Türkiye, Pakistan and Italy, which is in 10th place.
At the end of October 2023, the US News & World Report magazine recognized the Russian army as the strongest in the world. According to this ranking, the US ranked 2nd, China ranked 3rd, Israel ranked 4th, and South Korea ranked 5th.
Meanwhile, Professor John Mearsheimer of the University of Chicago said that the Russian army has become even more powerful since the start of the special military campaign.
