(Baonghean.vn) - On November 7th, Rosaviatsia - the Russian air transport agency - announced that it had sent 44 aircraft to Egypt to evacuate Russian tourists following the Russian plane crash in Sinai.

According to official statistics, there are currently around 78,000 Russian citizens traveling in Egypt. Rosaviatsia stated that a total of 30 planes will arrive in Hurghada and 14 planes will arrive in Sharm el-Sheikh, two resorts along the Red Sea coast of Egypt.

Irina Tiourina, spokesperson for the Russian Federation of Tourism, has once again assured that Russian tourists currently staying in Egypt are not required to leave immediately and can return to Russia whenever they wish. It is worth noting that on November 6th, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich had made a similar statement.

For its part, the Russian Ministry of Labor urged employers not to punish employees on vacation in Egypt who fail to return to work on schedule due to travel difficulties.

A week has passed since the Sinai plane crash that claimed the lives of 224 people, and many theories have been put forward, most notably the theory that a bomb exploded inside the ill-fated Russian Airbus. Although Russia is still cautiously considering these theories, Moscow has ordered the suspension of its civilian flights to Egypt since November 6th.
