Russia first published real images of 4 super weapons
The Russian military has revealed the first real images of four cutting-edge weapons unveiled by President Putin in March.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has just released a series of videos about the testing and development of cutting-edge weapons announced by President Vladimir Putin in his federal message four months ago.RTtoday news
Avangard hypersonic glide vehicle
The latest video shows the Avangard mounted on an intercontinental ballistic missile and being loaded into its silo. This is the first real image of this weapon, as Russia has only demonstrated the Avangard's attack method withsimulation video in March.
The Avangard is described as having hypersonic speeds and the ability to withstand extreme temperatures during the approach phase. The hypersonic glide vehicle is also capable of maneuvering in flight, making it impossible for enemy defense systems to accurately determine its trajectory to intercept it.
Burevestnik nuclear-powered cruise missile
The video shows Russian engineers inspecting Burevestnik cruise missiles in a large warehouse. The missiles are painted red, but important details on the body are covered.
Russian engineers say that despite successful testing, the design of the nuclear-powered cruise missile's frameBurevestnikstill need to be tweaked. Some parts of the rocket are being finalized in factories.
President Putin asserted that Burevestnik has "almost unlimited range" and is capable of maneuvering to avoid US defense systems and strike from the most unexpected direction. However, some Western military experts have expressed skepticism about the feasibility and stability of the nuclear engine installed in the missile, as well as its safety for the environment.
Poseidon nuclear torpedo
The latest video shows the first prototype of the Poseidon being completed in the factory and has very large propellers. Russian engineers are testing the performance of the Poseidon while the torpedo's propeller blades are still spinning.
Although the features of Poseidon have not been officially announced, based on the latest images, military experts believe that this torpedo is about 24 meters long, with an operating range of up to 10,000 km.
The torpedo will be launched from a submarine at a very deep underwater depth, making it virtually impossible to intercept. "This torpedo can help the navy fight aircraft carriers and battle groups in any sea area, as well as destroy the enemy's coastal infrastructure," said Russian admiral Igor Katasonov.
New laser combat complex Peresvet
The laser combat system is the most secretive of the weapons unveiled by Putin on March 1. The latest video shows Russian soldiers operating two Peresvet systems mounted on trucks. When activated, a gunship-like laser launcher opens, revealing the design of the weapon.
According to experts,Peresvet was likely designed to jam and blind optical-electronic devices mounted on enemy vehicles.
