According to RIA Novosti, Russia's foreign intelligence agency (SVR) said on February 11 that Ukraine's special services, with Western support, are preparing a series of provocations against Russia, including blowing up a foreign ship in the Baltic Sea.
“In particular, the proposed scenario involves using Russian-made mines that Ukraine has to bomb a foreign ship in the Baltic Sea. After that, Moscow will allegedly be held responsible,” the statement said.
According to calculations by Western and Ukrainian intelligence agencies, this will prompt NATO to decide to close Russia's access to the Baltic Sea on the grounds of ensuring the safety of maritime transport.
The SVR clarified that the goal of this planned provocation is to draw the North Atlantic Alliance into a direct armed conflict with Russia.
In addition, Ukraine, together with European intelligence agencies, is preparing attacks on representatives of the Russian non-systemic opposition and businessmen who have fled the law and live abroad.
“The program is expected to attract people from Asian and Middle Eastern countries to participate in this attack scenario in the Baltic. The prize is up to $20,000,” Russia’s foreign intelligence agency said.
The agency noted that the condition for the perpetrators in case of arrest is to blame the Russian special services, who allegedly directed the preparation of the attacks.
SVR added that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his team are capable of any provocation to save themselves. They not only hinder the start of the process of resolving the conflict, but are also ready to take the war far beyond Ukraine's borders.
