According to RIA Novosti, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said on May 25 that a buffer zone would cover almost the entire territory of Ukraine if military aid to Kyiv continues.

The politician attached a video to his Telegram channel showing a red-marked buffer zone gradually encroaching on the entire territory of Ukraine, which was marked in blue. By the end of the 14-second video, most of Ukraine was painted red. A small blue area remained, bordering Poland.

"If military aid to the Ukrainian government continues, the buffer zone could look like this," Medvedev wrote below the released video.

Earlier, in an online meeting with government members on May 22, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the Russian Armed Forces are currently working to create a security buffer zone along Russia's border with Ukraine.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any goods containing weapons destined for Ukraine would be legitimate targets for Russia. The Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that NATO member states are "playing with fire" by supplying weapons to Ukraine.

The Kremlin emphasized that the West's injection of weapons into Ukraine does not contribute to the success of the Russia-Ukraine negotiations and will have a negative impact. Lavrov also stated that the US and NATO are directly involved in the conflict in Ukraine, not only supplying weapons but also training personnel in the UK, Germany, Italy, and other countries.
