The Dvoynik sniper system, developed by Lobaev Arms, possesses remote control capabilities via network and integrates specialized hypersonic ammunition (1,530 m/s) to destroy drones.

Lobaev Arms has announced the start of mass production of Dvoynik, a next-generation sniper system capable of remote control from anywhere in the world via network connectivity. This represents a significant step in the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and automation to high-precision weapons, aiming to revolutionize traditional sniping tactics.

Control technology and flexible operation capabilities

The Dvoynik system is designed for flexible operation on both fixed and mobile platforms, typically integrated into the Kurier ground robot. The core of this system is its automatic loading mechanism and electric trigger. This technology allows the system to automatically load the next round as soon as the previous shot leaves the barrel, while the rate of fire is completely controlled remotely by the operator.

According to representatives from Lobaev Arms, this system achieves superior firing accuracy thanks to the support of AI algorithms in calculating trajectories and optimizing firing timing. Separating the shooter from the weapon position not only protects the lives of soldiers but also allows for the deployment of weapons in high-risk areas or challenging terrain.

Diverse technical specifications and firepower

The Dvoynik was developed to be compatible with a wide range of currently popular calibers, serving diverse tactical purposes:

  • Standard caliber:5.56×45 mm and 7.62×51 mm.
  • High-precision caliber:6.5 Creedmoor and 6.5×47 Lapua.

Notably, the manufacturer has developed a special hypersonic projectile specifically for this system, with a muzzle velocity of up to 1,530 m/s. The variant using this projectile is optimized for anti-drone (UAV) missions, a threat that is becoming increasingly common on the modern battlefield.

Modular design and battlefield outlook

Besides its firepower, the Dvoynik also impresses with its intelligent modular design. Engineers claim that assembling and disassembling the sighting module of this system is simpler than with traditional Kalashnikov assault rifles. Users can change critical components with just the push of a button, minimizing maintenance time and combat readiness.

Although mass production has officially begun, military experts believe the system still needs more time for real-world testing to prove its effectiveness and reliability. Dvoynik is expected to create a new precedent for the development of the sniping profession for decades to come, shifting from manual combat to fully automated operations supported by artificial intelligence.
