Russia will be one of Qatar's main partners

The crisis in the Gulf will affect economic cooperation between Qatar and Russia: Moscow will become one of the main partners in Doha, Qatar's Ambassador to Russia told Sputnik.

Ambassador Fahad Muhammad al-Attiyya drew attention to the statement on Friday (July 21) by the Emir of Qatar that the country, despite its isolation, "still receives many new economic opportunities".

“We are strengthening economic relations with Russia and other countries and building a more sustainable and resilient economy, which, on the one hand, will rely more on its own resources, and on the other hand, will be more diversified than before, when we were dependent on other countries. And I can say that Russia will certainly be one of the main partners in the plan for establishing economic development,” the Ambassador said.

Moscow signaled its support for Kuwait as an intermediary in resolving the crisis in the Gulf, and if necessary, agreed with all efforts to quickly resolve the crisis, the ambassador said.
