Russia will be one of Qatar's main partners.

The crisis in the Gulf will affect economic cooperation between Qatar and Russia: Moscow will become one of the main partners in Doha, the Qatari ambassador to Russia told Sputnik.

Ambassador Fahad Muhammad al-Attiyya highlighted the Qatari Emir's statement on Friday (July 21) that the country, despite its isolation, "is receiving many new economic opportunities."

"We are strengthening economic relations with Russia and other countries and building a more sustainable and resilient economy, which, on the one hand, will rely more on our own resources, and on the other hand, will be more diversified than before, when we were dependent on other countries. And I can say that Russia will certainly be one of the main partners in the plan to establish economic development," the Ambassador said.

Moscow has signaled its support for Kuwait as a mediator in resolving the Gulf crisis, and, if necessary, agrees with any efforts to quickly resolve the crisis, the ambassador said.
