The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed the coordinated attack in the early hours of July 11th. They used long-range precision weapons and UAVs. The main targets of the Russian operation against Kyiv were defense industry facilities. The port system in the Odessa province was also within the target range.

According to RT, in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, Russian artillery struck two large-scale unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) manufacturing facilities. The first was the Aerodron industrial plant, which specializes in the research and manufacture of heavy-duty drones, notably the E-300 Enterprise and D-80 Discovery models, known for their large payloads and long range.

The second facility is named Fanplit. This factory is disguised as a civilian furniture manufacturing workshop. The purpose is to conceal its true function and evade enemy intelligence. However, Russia claims that Fanplit is where the Fire Point-2 UAVs are assembled and stored. This weapon has a range of up to two hundred kilometers and contains various warhead components.

Beyond the capital, the operation expanded to economic hubs in Odessa. The port of Chornomorsk, which used to handle the majority of Ukraine's agricultural exports, was now under attack because it played a key logistical role. Russian fire struck numerous fuel tanks used for military supplies.

A similar situation occurred in the Yuzhny port area. This area, which traditionally exports agricultural products and metallurgical goods, is now being used by the Ukrainian army as a transit point. The Izmail port, located on the Danube River, also suffered significant damage. This was the most important backup logistics line for the Ukrainian forces. Russia successfully destroyed the pumping station, weapons depot, and port infrastructure operations center.

At the same time, Russian air defenses had to contend with a major airstrike from Ukraine. Military reports noted that 178 UAVs were destroyed overnight. These targets infiltrated the airspace of nine Russian territories, mainly in the Bryansk, Kaluga, Rostov, and Smolensk regions.

Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky stated in a Telegram post on July 11 that Ukrainian air defenses failed to intercept ballistic missiles from Russia during the early morning attack.

Zelensky noted that Kyiv hopes its partners will fulfill their promises regarding aid packages for Ukraine, which were reached at the recent NATO summit in Ankara.
